MSNBC host Joy Reid, a raging liberal, has found herself embroiled in controversy after blog posts from her defunct website were discovered on a web archive site chock full of what’s being called “homophobic” writings.
Reid initially claimed that someone hacked the website and fabricated the posts, but the archive site in question says that’s poppycock.
The Daily Wire is reporting:
“When we reviewed the archives, we found nothing to indicate tampering or hacking of the Wayback Machine versions,” the Internet Archive said in a statement to BuzzFeed News on Tuesday. “At least some of the examples of allegedly fraudulent posts provided to us had been archived at different dates and by different entities.”
In a statement on Monday, Reid claimed that she learned in December that someone hacked her blog posts and fabricated them:
In December I learned that an unknown, external party accessed and manipulated material from my now-defunct blog, The Reid Report, to include offensive and hateful references that are fabricated and run counter to my personal beliefs and ideology.
Reid’s statement claiming that she had been hacked by bad actors contradicts an apology that she issued in late December apologizing for writing multiple bigoted and homophobic posts.
Glenn Greenwald, a journalist at The Intercept, noted NBC’s response to the allegations in a tweet early on Tuesday, saying what the network is counting on, that “no liberal outlets or journalists will be willing to even mention any of this happened, so they won’t have to ever account for it. They’re counting on a lack of integrity to overlook bigotry & possible lying from their own side.”

What MSNBC is counting on: no liberal outlets or journalists will be willing to even mention any of this happened, so they won't have to ever account for it. They're counting on a lack of integrity to overlook bigotry & possible lying from their own side. Probably a good bet: https://t.co/uY4HAFGCzh

Reid actually had an award she received rescinded because of the posts:
This is what it looks like when people actually believe in the principles they claim to believe in, and refuse to ignore hideous acts by someone who has the right partisan affiliation. Kudos to @PFLAG – may your example inspire others who are shamefully silent: https://t.co/Vk6UYrrzEF

This is kind of amazing. On the left: what the front page of @PFLAG's website looked like today. On the right, the statement @PFLAG just issued. This will – or at least should – make it much harder for those noble liberal outlets to keep steadfastly ignoring this story pic.twitter.com/gF0cTijGSz

We have rescinded our Straight for Equality in Media award honors to @JoyAnnReid. Our statement here: https://t.co/jBLXiZqCyJ

So it seems this might be a glaring example of the hypocrisy that exists on the left and their empty blathering about unity, inclusivity, and all that jazz.
This is nothing new to conservatives as we’ve all had our fair share of run-ins with violent leftists who will throw all kinds of sexist slurs at conservative women — all while maintaining they are feminists — and those who threaten violence toward those who don’t see the world the same way they do.
If folks on the left want to be taken seriously, they will have to hold Reid to the same standards they attempt to hold individuals on the right to, otherwise it becomes glaringly obvious their whole movement is a fraud.
