When it comes to naming buildings after people, presidents are the gold standard.

But when President Donald Trump’s name is involved, his leftist critics insist it should be barred from display whenever possible.

One judge recently had the opportunity to prevent Trump’s name from being added to a prominent building, and as Fox News reported, he didn’t let it go to waste:

U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper, an Obama appointee, said the iconic venue cannot be renamed without an act of Congress, ruling that the Kennedy Center Board of Trustees overstepped its “statutory bounds by unilaterally renaming” the building.

As part of his ruling, the Trump administration will be required to take down all physical signage bearing Trump’s name and eliminate any references to a “Trump-Kennedy Center” from official materials.

“The Kennedy Center’s organic statute makes crystal clear that the Center is to be named for President Kennedy, and it cannot bear any other formal name or public memorial based on the Board’s unilateral say-so,” Cooper wrote. “Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it.”

In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump savaged the ruling and said he would work with Congress to transfer the Kennedy Center from the Department of Commerce back to Capitol Hill ‘giving them the responsibility for its Operation, Maintenance, and Management.’

‘Judge Cooper should be ashamed of himself!’ the President said.

We are confident that on appeal the court will uphold the board’s will to recognize President Trump’s historic contributions to our nation’s cultural center,’ spokesman Roma Daravi additionally told the Daily Mail in a statement.

Beatty’s office did not return a call from the Daily Mail.

In December, Trump’s handpicked Kennedy Center Board of Trustees voted unanimously to rename the performing arts center ‘The Donald J Trump and The John F Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.’
