Sen. Darline Graham, the sister of late Sen. Lindsey Graham, has just advanced to a runoff election in the special South Carolina Republican Senate primary.

Graham, who is endorsed by President Trump, received the highest percentage of votes out of a crowded field of candidates.

However, since no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Graham and second-place contender Rep. Ralph Norman will face off in a runoff later this month.

The runoff between Darline Graham and Ralph Norman will take place on August 25th.

NBC News reported further:

Graham, who was appointed by South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster to fill the remainder of her late brother Lindsey Graham’s term in July, is looking to also take his place on the November ballot for a full six years in the Senate. Trump encouraged her to run and then endorsed her in a primary that featured 10 GOP candidates, including Norman, Rep. Russell Fry and former Gov. Mark Sanford.

The winner of the Aug. 25 runoff will face Democrat Annie Andrews, a doctor who won her party’s primary in June.

As you probably know, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster has already appointed Darline Graham to serve for the remainder of her late brother’s term in the Senate.

During her brief time as interim Senator, the younger Graham has become an outspoken supporter of the SAVE America Act.

Most recently, Darline joined over two dozen Senators who tried to persuade Majority Leader John Thune to skip August recess in order to get the important piece of legislation passed in time for midterms.

“What’s up with recess anyway?! Who gets a MONTH off from work? I think we should stay there and work to GET IT DONE.”

“I am all for, this is where I differ from my brother, getting rid of the filibuster to get this done because eventually the Democrats are going to get rid of it anyway!”

“In New Jersey, they had 6,600 people, non-citizens registered to vote and several hundred of them DID vote in our election.”
