Mitch McConnell: “Nowhere near the bar for impeaching the President of the United States.”
This is beautiful! After the sham House impeachment hearings, the Democrats in the Senate tried to hold a trial with witnesses in the Senate but Republican leader Mitch McConnell just called it a “fishing expedition.” He said no way the Dems will do the same thing in the Senate that they did in the House. McConnell rejected witness requests from Schumer who had, proposed to have Mick Mulvaney or John Bolton testify.

The House can turn back from a cliff and not deploy this constitutional remedy of last resort to deliver a predetermined partisan outcome.” pic.twitter.com/agESIUIN83

McConnell also slammed Schumer for misquoting the Constitution confusing the roles of the House and Senate.
"The Democratic leader's letter to me, by way of the press, literally mis-quoted the constitution,"

Listen to Schumer claim that “the House case is so strong”…LOL!
Sen. Chuck Schumer: "The House has built a very strong case against the president. Maybe that's why Leader McConnell doesn't seem to want witnesses." https://t.co/dVEmPQIVvW pic.twitter.com/LHtPft5ngK
