During the brief press conference before President Trump’s lunch meeting with Kanye West and retired NFL legend, Jim Brown, the media was given the opportunity to hear what the outspoken rapper had to say, as West revealed why he supports President Trump and why he’s courageously speaking out about conservative solutions to age-old issues, like gun violence in Chicago, mental health issues, prison reform, trade with China and gun rights.

In the first video (below), Kanye explained how wearing his MAGA hat makes him feel empowered because it gives him the ability to feel free to think his own thoughts. He explained how he didn’t have a lot of male energy at home, as he tried to explain how important a male role model is in the family. He told the press that to him, wearing his Trump hat is the equivalent of wearing a Superman cape.

In the second video, Kanye became animated during the press release, as he got up from his chair and demanded that Americans give President Trump the respect he deserves, saying, “If he don’t look good, we don’t look good. This is our President!”  “He has to be the freshest, the flyest”, and “we have to make our core be empowered. When we make everything in China, and not in America, then we’re cheating on our country.”

The NRA quickly turned Kanye’s remarks about legal gun ownership vs. illegal gun ownership into an ad to promote the Second Amendment on social media.

MSNBC shamelessly posted a longer version of their rant on Twitter:
