While Reuters is reporting that McConnell believes the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh is a go, Kavanaugh’s accuser is having an issue with outside counsel asking the questions. This Thursday’s hearing may not happen but it’s not because the Republicans haven’t bent over backwards to assist Ms. Ford in testifying before the Senate panel.

Senator Feinstein just commented that she has “no way of knowing” if Ford will testify if outside counsel is doing the questioning…

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell spoke out to confirm that he believes Judge Brett Kavanaugh will be confirmed to sit on the Supreme Court: “We’re going to be moving forward. I’m confident we’re going to win, confident that he’ll be confirmed in the very near future. I believe he’ll be confirmed, yes.”

Since all Republicans on the Senate panel are men, McConnell also said the Senate had hired a woman lawyer to do the questioning of Kavanaugh and his accuser.

“We have hired a female assistant to go on staff and to ask these questions in a respectful and professional way.”

So first they’re upset that it’s an all men panel that would question her, and so they get a female lawyer with actual experience in questioning sexual assault victims to question her, and they get upset at that.
