Popular Florida Governor Ron DeSantis traveled to New York City and spoke to a crowd of supporters Monday about law enforcement. DeSantis made a pitch to New York’s police officers, encouraging them to transfer to Florida for work, where crime levels were lower and they would be valued,
“If you don’t think things are going to turn around wherever you are—not just in New York, wherever—just know that there’s a state that’s doing it right. There’s a state that will value your service.”
DeSantis tweeted, “I visited Staten Island to talk about how law and order has been central to FL’s success. FL leads the nation in protecting LEO’s and our crime rate is at a 50-year low, while NYC saw a 23% surge in major crime in 2022. Anti-police politicians should stop catering to the woke mob.

DeSantis spoke in a restaurant before a large crowd, many of whom appeared to be law enforcement. DeSantis also declared that Florida remained firm and did “not surrender to the woke mob,” noting the freedom-loving state is where “woke goes to die.”
Apparently, DeSantis hit a nerve with New York Cities Democrat Mayor. Adams tweeted a sarcastic welcome to DeSantis, letting him know that NYC could teach him about “values”. He went on to describe NYC values, inadvertently proving the Florida Governor’s point. Adams tweeted that NYC is a great place to live because a women call kill her baby and because sexually explicit books are available for school children.
“Welcome to NYC @GovRonDeSantis, a place where we don’t ban books, discriminate against our LGBTQ+ neighbors, use asylum seekers as props, or let the government stand between a woman and health care.”
Twitter users took Adams to task on his awful NYC record following his comments, and DeSantis’ spokeswoman Christina Pushaw responded to Adams as well.
“Nice rhetoric—but here’s reality: More Americans fled NYC than any other metro area last year, More Americans moved to Florida than any other state. You know this, Mayor Adams, and you’ve talked accurately about crime pushing people out of NYC. Florida’s crime rate…”

You know this, Mayor Adams, and you’ve talked (accurately) about crime pushing people out of NYC. Florida’s crime rate… https://t.co/gHru8I12PS

“You know this, Mayor Adams, and you’ve talked (accurately) about crime pushing people out of NYC,” Pushaw said.
“Florida’s crime rate meanwhile is at a 50-year low. Maybe it’s you who can learn from [DeSantis]?” the governor’s campaign spokesperson said.
Major Adam’s who criticized DeSantis sending illegal immigrants elsewhere, saying he doesn’t use “asylum seekers as props”, has been asked to quit sending illegals to Canada.
According to Gateway Pundit, Quebec, which is Canada’s second-most populated province, is demanding that Mayor Eric Adams “immediately” stop helping migrants illegally enter their country. Apparently, Adams has been buying illegal immigrants bus tickets in order to move them out of NYC and into another area, all while claiming that NYC is a sanctuary city. For the leftist politician, the concern seems to lean toward maintaining an appearance rather than actually helping people.

Regarding Adam’s actions, Quebec’s premier said, “Any form of assistance to migrants crossing the border where it is strictly forbidden to do so should stop immediately. We understand that the situation of migrants in New York poses major challenges, but the situation in Quebec and particularly in Montreal is even worse and constitutes an important humanitarian issue.”
