The man who threw a 5-year old boy off of the third-floor balcony of the Mall of America just became even more outrageous and despicable.

Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda told authorities he planned the crime the day before and then arrived at the mall around 10:15. He had planned to throw an adult over the balcony because he said adults usually stand close to the balcony on the third floor.

The sickening thing is the reason he gave for why he went to the mall to kill someone is that he was angered by rejection from the women at the mall. He told police he had been coming to the mall for years trying to talk to women but had been rejected.  Revenge for being rejected by women? It’s so hard to believe this motive.

Aranda is being charged with attempted premeditated first-degree murder. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday and prosecutors will seek a 2 million dollar bail.

Little Landen had his spleen removed and has multiple fractures on his face, arms and legs. He will have several more surgeries according to the Bloomington police.

A GO FUND ME WAS SET UP AND IS BEING FLOODED WITH DONATIONS:

A GoFundMe campaign has raised over the goal of $500,000 for Landen Hoffmann.

He’s the 5-year-old boy who suffered life-threatening injuries when a deranged man threw him off of a third-floor balcony at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn.

The support and well wishes on the Go Fund Me page are fantastic:

“We are heartsick over what happened to Landen, your precious little boy.”

“Every prayer for your family and your sweet little boy!”

The GoFundMe page also gives hope for improvement for Landen who remains in stable condition, “contrary to the rumors and attention seekers out there stating that he has passed.”

THE GO FUND ME STATEMENT:

This is Landen, he is the sweetest kindest 5-year-old you will ever meet. His soul is soft and gentle and instantly brings a smile to everybody he meets. He is full of energy and life and enjoys soccer, playing with friends and family and playing hockey with his brother and sister. He was enjoying a day at the Mall of America with his mom and friend on Friday morning when a stranger maliciously grabbed him and threw him over the 3rd-floor balcony for no apparent reason. The family doesn’t know him and are completely clueless as to why this monster would target their family with this heinous act of violence. My wife and His mother have been best friends since they were 3 years old. They have grown up together, started their families together and truly have a lifelong friendship for the ages. Their family is always so generous to others, they give without expecting anything in return and are the type of family you always hope to live next door. Landen has a very long road to recovery ahead of him. He suffered life-threatening injuries, many people who fall from that distance aren’t as lucky to make it. He has many surgeries ahead in his life to try to get back to normal life for a young, vibrant boy. We started this GoFundMe for their family to help cover the immense medical costs and rehabilitation costs for the long road ahead. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to hear about their story.

OUR PREVIOUS REPORT ON WHAT HAPPENED TO LANDEN HOFFMANN:

A suspect has been arrested and charged with attempted homicide in the mysterious case of a 5-year-old boy being thrown from the third-floor balcony of the Mall of America. It’s hard to imagine anyone doing something so violent to a small child who is not known to him. As it turns out, the man had been arrested twice before at the mall. He had also been banned from Mall of America and was charged in two separate incidents at the mall in 2015. In July of that year, Aranda was charged with causing damage inside stores, throwing items off of a balcony to a lower level and resisting arrest. Aranda was then charged in October of that year for throwing a glass of water and a glass of tea at a woman inside of Twin Cities Grill after she refused to buy him food.

Emmanuel Deshawn Aranda, 24, is in custody after he was apprehended fleeing the Mall of America via the mall transit station.

Aranda is suspected of “throwing or pushing” a young boy over the balcony at the mall. There is no known connection between the boy’s family and the suspect which makes this case even more puzzling.

Witnesses told police that a 5-year-old boy had been “pushed or thrown” from the third floor of the mall balcony.

The Star Tribune reports the boy’s mother was screaming for help. Several people tried to give the boy CPR, but it was reported he wasn’t breathing. He was taken to the local hospital. There is no report on his condition at this time.

The suspect ran to the first floor of the mall and was trying to flee when a brave elderly man tried to stop him. The suspect assaulted the man and eventually was caught at the transit station.

The Bloomington Police Chief said:  “At this point, we believe this is an isolated incident. We’re actively trying to figure out why this occurred. We don’t believe there is a threat to the public at this point.”

This man was a threat before he committed this horrific crime He had been arrested in the mall for dropping things over the third-floor balcony and assaulted a woman at a mall restaurant.

The suspect’s record indicates he has been convicted of trespassing, fifth-degree assault and interfering with a police officer. Also, he has a felony conviction for first-degree damage to property.
