As thousands of migrants flood Washington D.C. and New York City, the Democratic lawmakers who, in the past, have pushed for an unlimited number of migrants to be allowed across the border, are requesting assistance from the federal government to help handle the growing “emergency” in their cities. However, the Pentagon has just rejected the D.C. mayor’s second request for the deployment of the National Guard to help with the migrant influx.

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser had her request to activate the National Guard denied on Monday for the second time, as she struggles to deal with the thousands of migrants who have been arriving in the nation’s capital.

Last month, Bowser also requested assistance from the National Guard but was rejected. On August 11, she sent in a second request for 150 National Guard troops to “help prevent a prolonged humanitarian crisis in our nation’s capital resulting from the daily arrival of migrants.”

In response, Defense Department Executive Secretary Kelly Bulliner Holly wrote back to Bowser explaining that the D.C. National Guard is not trained to assist with migrants, and the activation of the troops would lead to “diminished readiness.”

“The DCNG has no specific experience in or training for this kind of mission or unique skills for providing facility management, feeding, sanitation, or ground support,” wrote Holly. “Approval of this request would also result in a substantial readiness impact to the DCNG. Devoting the personnel or the facility for such an extended mission would force the cancellation or disruption of military training.”

Since April, about 7,000 migrants have been bused from Texas to D.C., and about 900 have been bused to New York City. However, over 305,000 have crossed the border into Texas.

“Before we began busing migrants to New York, it was just Texas and Arizona that bore the brunt of all the chaos and problems that come with it,” said Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. “Now, the rest of America can understand exactly what is going on.”

The Democrat lawmakers in these cities are now trying to accuse the GOP of creating an inhumane environment for the migrants. However, no migrants are forced to get on the buses to New York or D.C. On the contrary, many migrants are happy to go to the east coast and are glad for the free transportation.

The Democrat political leaders are complaining about the overwhelming number of migrants entering their cities, but they were major supporters of opening our borders when their homes and cities were far away from the issue. They are now blaming GOP leaders for the arrival of migrants in their east coast cities when, in reality, they are responsible for the situation in the first place, this is just the first time they’ve had to face the consequences of their decisions.
