On Monday, multiple people were shot and killed in Highland Park at a Fourth of July parade.

The shooting has so far claimed the lives of six people, and led to multiple other people injured.

Just minutes ago, police apprehended the suspect in the shooting according to a source familiar with the incident.

He was arrested in Lake Forest, Illinois at a traffic stop without incident.

He was identified as 22-year-old Robert Crimo III.

He is a hip-hop artist who has made songs and music videos that expressed homicidal intent in the past.

His music is published under the name “Awake The Rapper”.

In a song that was published less than nine months ago, Crimo said that he was going to carry out a “life-defining” act.  The music video included violent imagery.

Robert Crimo’s father, Bob Crimo, is a local business owner who ran for mayor in 2020.

Authorities have identified a potential person of interest in the Highland Park, Illinois, 4th of July parade shooting as 22-year-old Robert “Bobby” E. Crimo III.

An FBI wanted poster describes Robert E. Crimo III as a thin White male with brown eyes and neck-length brown hair, weighing 120 pounds. The poster also describes his tattoos: “four tally marks with a line through them on his right cheek, red roses and green leaves on his neck, and cursive script above his left eyebrow.”

The poster describes him as “armed and dangerous.”

Crimo is also known as “Awake the Rapper.”

IMDB describes Crimo as a “six foot Hip hop phenom” born on Sept. 20, 2000. “He’s the middle child of three and of Italian descent.”

Crimo began uploading his music to the internet at age 11, but first gained traction with his 2016 track “By The Pond” featuring Atlas, according to IMDB. His estimated net worth is “$100 thousand.”
