Can you believe it? Senator Bill Nelson has been in the Senate since 2000! He started his political career in 1972! Nelson moved up the political career ladder when he went from the Florida House (1972-78) to the US House (1979-91) and then the Senate. Nelson defines what it is to be a career politician. Holy Moly!

OUR FAVORITE BILL “POSTER BOY FOR TERM LIMITS”  NELSON MOMENT was when he asked Mark Zuckerberg if he knows about his favorite kind of chocolate. This is a hoot!

After a long and drawn out battle with Rick Scott for Senator in Florida, Nelson FINALLY conceded. The recount gave him a few hundred extra votes but it became evident that it wouldn’t make up for the 10,000 vote spread. The recount ended at noon today after a fight from Nelson that made this one of the most expensive Senate races in history.

Senator-elect Rick Scott thanked Nelson for his years of public service in a statement today:  ‘I just spoke with Senator Bill Nelson, who graciously conceded, and I thanked him for his years of public service. This victory would not be possible without the hard work of so many people.’

This gives President Trump a comfortable majority in the Senate…53-47. President Trump congratulated Scott in a tweet:

From day one Rick Scott never wavered. He was a great Governor and will be even a greater Senator in representing the People of Florida. Congratulations to Rick on having waged such a courageous and successful campaign!
