President Trump got another win today in a decision from the Supreme Court.
In a 5-4 ruling along ideological lines, the U.S. Supreme Court gave Trump a victory on immigration detention and a loss for the liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
The vote gave the majority conservative side of the court a win, demonstrating just how important it is to have a president who goes with true conservatives who adhere to strict immigration policies.
Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh joined the majority with Justice Alito.
The ruling is for the government’s ability to detain immigrants waiting for deportation because they may be a danger if they are released.
Justice Alito joined the majority restricting when deportable aliens can secure bond or parole to contest removal proceedings, especially those who may be a risk to commit certain “dangerous” crimes if released.
Questions of due process were raised by the dissenting voices on the court, but the majority ultimately rules with President Trump.
Ultimately, the rule of law on immigration was upheld…as it should be.
