The second instance of an outbreak of illness has shut down a Texas detention center in McAllen. The problem is that a young 16-year-old was transferred out of the center before it was known he was sick. He eventually died from the flu. This is the fifth child to die from illness in detention. The dangers of traveling to the U.S. to come in illegally are very real. The parents of children and teens who make the trek are putting their children in great danger when they bring them to the border or allow them to travel alone to the border. In this case, the teen was unaccompanied and had traveled from Guatemala like the other four children who have died in detention.
WaPo reports that U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s main migrant intake center in Texas has halted work after a “large number” of migrants fell ill, the agency announced late Tuesday. An unspecified number of migrants at the Central Processing Center in McAllen began showing “signs of flu-related illness.”
A FLOOD OF ILLEGALS CONTINUES…
Border Patrol Statement: “To avoid the spread of illness, the Rio Grande Valley Sector has temporarily suspended intake operations at the Central Processing Center. Individuals apprehended in the Rio Grande Valley Sector will be held at other locations until this situation is resolved.”
16-YEAR OLD DIES FROM THE FLU:
A 16-year-old who was being held at the same McAllen detention center died from the flu. Carlos Gregorio Vasquez was being held at the McAllen detention center before Border Patrol transferred him out. Only after he had left the facility did it become clear that he was sick. He had been seen twice and was given Tamiflu but not taken to a hospital.
While the outcry from the left’s open border activists blames the system, this unaccompanied 16-year-old’s death was 100% avoidable. If our asylum policy wasn’t incentivizing these people to make the dangerous journey to the U.S., this teen would still be alive.
OUR PREVIOUS REPORT ON THE OUTBREAK OF FEVER AMONG ILLEGALS RELEASED INTO THREE TEXAS TOWNS:
Brownsville, Texas is one of several towns in Texas that has been inundated with illegals released by the border patrol because resources are “overwhelmed and “overstretched.” It’s the plan, and it’s working. America is expected to see over 1 million illegals cross over our border in fiscal year 2019. It’s a Merkel-style “fundamental transformation” of America.
The City Manager of Brownsville, Texas Noel Bernal told The Brownsville Herald that U.S. Customs and Border Protection told him that approximately 5,600 illegals would be released in Brownsville, Harlingen, and McAllen this week. The load on any local city to provide for a sudden mass influx of needy people is huge. The taxpayers pay for the services used by the illegals when they arrive needing food, shelter, medical care and education.
Bernal said the city is preparing for the group: “That’s the total number we are aware of and are preparing to process to handle.”
U.S. Border Patrol Sector Chief Agent Rodolfo Karisch said that the releases are necessary because the Rio Grande Valley Sector’s resources are “overwhelmed and over-stretched.”
That’s why the three cities started receiving the illegals last week and will continue to see them arriving in their towns.
President Trump has been threatening to close the border because of the overcrowding situation that causes the release of the illegals into the U.S. He tweeted out a threat to Mexico to help the U.S. by stopping the illegals coming through their country:
“If Mexico doesn’t immediately stop ALL illegal immigration coming into the United States through our Southern Border, I will be CLOSING the border, of large sections of the Border, next week.”
One of the problems is the illness brought in with the illegals. They cannot be released until they are well. Nineteen of the illegals ended up in the local hospital with fevers. Who pays for this? YOU DO! Healthcare is expensive enough without a mass infusion of people looking for health freebies.
Brownsville Mayor Tony Martinez voiced his concern:
“That’s one of my biggest concerns in the sense of when they detain someone, and they are either believed to be ill or show symptoms of illness, the law requires them to provide medical assistance before they release them into the general public.”
MORE ON THE HUGE SURGE IN BORDER CROSSINGS:
As Border Patrol agents are reporting thousands of illegal crossings daily, residents in the Rio Grande Valley are saying they too are seeing an increase of immigrants.
In a shocking surveillance video taken in Mission, Texas a woman recorded a group of about 16 people jumping a fence of a home inside a gated community.
And Democrats don’t think we have a problem?
Crazy video from ABC News is stunning evidence that our border is wide open and that illegals ignoring border parol demands that they not cross.
The video shows adults with small children coming through a hole in the border fence and then through a fence in water. The immigration policy has incentivized bringing a child with you to cross because it increases the chances that you will be released into America:
According to The Hill, releasing anyone who brings his or her child into the U.S. has incentivized the smuggling of children and enabled an increasingly large share of new illegal aliens to get past the border and embed themselves in our society.

This is a crisis even if Democrats refuse to say that it is. President Trump should shut down the border so border patrol can cover areas like the one in the video.
A FIRST-HAND LOOK AT OUR WIDE OPEN BORDER:
The video below is from the husband of Mindy Schroeder Brown who describes what’s in the video and what’s going on at the border in a Facebook post below:
It’s a look at just how open our border is and how the illegals are just surrendering to the border patrol so they can get into detention. Once in detention, many are released into America with a “promise” to come back for a court date.
This is a video my husband shot this evening leaving the farm West of Mission, Texas. 300+ people, a DAY get bussed from this location. 1 bus in the morning, 1 bus at noon, and 1 bus in the evening. Towards the end of the video, you’ll see the useless border wall that’s been in place since late 2007-early 2008.
It’s useless because there are no gates on it. Just huge gaping spaces every quarter mile or so because Obama halted the construction when he took office. You’ll also see a border patrol agent step into the clearing so the illegals can see he’s there waiting for them.
What you don’t see is the other border patrol agent on the other side of the wall with another 125 or so people… waiting for a bus. (My husband stopped recording because he didn’t want the agent’s face shown in the video) This is an everyday thing. Hundreds of illegals crossing just at this ONE location. The RGV is at its breaking point. Our Border Patrol needs help. *
President Trump is begging Congress to do something to change the loopholes in our immigration laws.
Democrats, working with Republicans in Congress, can fix the Asylum and other loopholes quickly. We have a major National Emergency at our Border. GET IT DONE NOW!

Here’s a typical “bailout” with illegal aliens. Again, these folks are NOT TURNING THEMSELVES IN FOR ASYLUM!!! #BuildTheWall
