Speculation has already begun (see below) now that John Bolton is out of the Trump administration.

President Trump tweeted about the firing and even said why he fired Bolton:

I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore…

….I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week.

SPECULATION:

The most common theory on Bolton’s firing is that Trump wouldn’t get into a war with Iran. Bolton has a reputation as a ‘war hawk.’

Just two days ago, The Washington Post published a blistering article about Bolton and Trump: The Collapse of Afghanistan Peace Talks Spotlights Internal Trump Administration Divisions – “Bolton is so distrusted on the president’s central prerogatives, for instance Afghanistan, that he’s not even allowed to see sensitive plans unsupervised.”

Reports of VP Pence and Bolton disagreeing with Trump on meeting at Camp David with the Taliban brought about the firing of Bolton.

One reporter from CNN said that Pompeo and Bolton had been in a power struggle:

The secretary of state & national security adviser rarely speak outside formal meetings. John Bolton has his eyes on Mike Pompeo’s job, who has his eyes on a Kansas Senate seat. Our latest on how long-simmering tensions have turned into all-out hostility:

Someone will spill on what happened, but for now, it’s just all speculation…

What do you think happened to make Trump fire Bolton?
