In a huge development, President Trump is dropping the nomination of Dr. Casey Means as Surgeon General, which has been stalled in the Senate.

Instead, he’s nominating Dr. Nicole Saphier for the role.

President Trump announcement the switch-up in a statement on Truth Social:

I am pleased to announce that I am nominating Dr. Nicole B. Saphier to be the next SURGEON GENERAL OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Nicole is a STAR physician who has spent her career guiding women facing breast cancer through their diagnosis and treatment while tirelessly advocating to increase early cancer detection and prevention, while at the same time working with men and women on all other forms of cancer diagnoses and treatments. She is also an INCREDIBLE COMMUNICATOR, who makes complicated health issues more easily understood by all Americans. Dr. Nicole Saphier will do great things for our Country, and help, “MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN.” Congratulations Nicole, our Country has long been waiting for you! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Dr. Casey Means is the sister of HHS Secretary RFK Jr.’s senior adviser, Calley Means.

By all appearances, she would have done a great job in the role.

However, many Senators refused to confirm her, primarily over her controversial views on vaccines for babies and the side effects of birth control for women.

AP News explained further:

In nominating Means last May, Trump sought to hire a close ally of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the nation’s doctor. The 38-year-old Means, a Stanford-educated physician who became disillusioned with the health care system and pivoted to a career as an author and entrepreneur, promotes ideas popular with the MAHA movement, including that Americans are overmedicalized and that diet and lifestyle changes should be at the center of efforts to end widespread chronic disease.

But Means, who did not finish her surgical residency program and doesn’t currently have an active medical license, also had faced scrutiny for her lack of experience and potential conflicts. On top of those concerns, senators grilled her in February about Kennedy’s effort to pull back vaccine recommendations — leading to some contentious moments as Means toed the line between support for vaccines and calling them a decision best made by patients and their doctors.

In her confirmation hearing, Means was repeatedly asked about the birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccine, which the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stopped recommending for all children late last year in a move criticized by scientific and medical groups nationwide and currently blocked during a lawsuit. Means has raised doubts about the birth dose, posting on social media in 2024 that giving the vaccine to a newborn whose parents don’t have hepatitis B was “absolute insanity.”

In another post earlier Thursday, Trump called Means “a strong MAHA Warrior” and also criticized the “intransigence and political games” from GOP Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, the chair of the Senate health committee, who is facing a tough reelection this year and who interrogated Means about vaccines during the hearing.

Means’ brother, Calley Means, a health adviser to the Trump administration, blamed Cassidy in a social media post, claiming his “constant delay tactics” sank the nomination because he didn’t bring Means’ nomination to a committee vote.

In a separate post on Truth Social, President Trump blasted Sen. Bill Cassidy for blocking Means’ nomination:

For months, Senator Bill Cassidy (of the GREAT State of Louisiana!), a very disloyal person whose “TRUMP” Endorsement got him elected, but later voted to impeach “President Trump” on what has now proven to be a total Hoax and Scam, has stood in the way of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Nominee, Casey Means, for the important position of U.S. Surgeon General. I nominated Casey, a strong MAHA Warrior, at the recommendation of Secretary Kennedy, who understands the MAHA Movement better than anyone, with perhaps the possible exception of ME! Nevertheless, despite Senator Cassidy’s intransigence and political games, Casey will continue to fight for MAHA on the many important Health issues facing our Country, such as the rising childhood disease epidemic, increased autism rates, poor nutrition, over-medicalization, and researching the root causes of infertility, and many other difficult medical problems. Casey, thank you for your service to our Nation! President DONALD J. TRUMP

RFK Jr. also called out Bill Cassidy for refusing to get Casey Means confirmed:

President Trump’s Surgeon General nominee, Casey Means, stands as one of the MAHA movement’s most powerful evangelists. Her book Good Energy, which exposed the nation’s catastrophic decline in metabolic health, has become a bible for the MAHA movement.

After graduating first in her class at Stanford Medical School, Casey walked away from her medical practice because she no longer wanted to be part of a sick-care system. She has committed her life to transforming American health care.

By sabotaging this appointment, Bill Cassidy once again did the dirty work for entrenched interests seeking to stall the MAHA movement and protect the very status quo that has made America the sickest nation on earth.

Casey Means will remain an important leader and a close partner as we uncover the root causes of the chronic disease epidemic and Make America Healthy Again.

As a result of the Senate sinking Casey Means’ nomination, President Trump is appointing Fox News medical contributor Nicole Saphier as her replacement.

President Trump gave this hilarious response to Fox News reporter Peter Doocy when asked about the nomination:

Dr. Saphier is also credited with coming up for the “Make America Healthy Again” slogan.

NBC News shared more details on her background:

Saphier is listed on Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s website as a radiologist and director of breast imaging at its facility in Monmouth County, New Jersey. She is also a medical contributor on Fox News.

If confirmed by the Senate, Saphier would become the nation’s top doctor, with the power to issue health advisories for the country…

The title of Saphier’s 2020 book, “Make America Healthy Again,” became the slogan for Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s agenda. The book discusses many of the subjects that Kennedy has focused on, including the possibility of preventing chronic diseases by adjusting lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise.

Her 2021 book, “Panic Attack,” criticizes pandemic-era shutdowns and school closures — views that align with those of several top health officials, including Kennedy and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, who leads the National Institutes of Health and is acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In a good sign, Dr. Saphier has been a vocal critic of COVID vaccine requirements for kids.

Watch this clip in which she expressed her view of the ridiculous mandates:

However, Dr. Saphier has also been criticized for supporting COVID vaccines for adults.

While she did not get a COVID vaccine herself, she has voiced support for the dangerous mRNA vaccines and believes they are ‘safe and effective’ for the majority of adults.

Listen to what she told Megyn Kelly back in 2021:

he New U.S. Nicole Saphier on the Covid Jab in 2021.. “I would have taken 20 Pfizer Vaccines”

Megyn Kelly:
What Covid vaccine did you get?

Nicole Saphier:
I didn’t get it.. because of an autoimmune disease that affects my heart. I went to get it, but fell down.

Megyn Kelly:
Did you manifest the fall because you didn’t want it?

Nicole Saphier:
No, I would have taken 20 Pfizer vaccines right now If didn’t have to deal with with I have to see wth.. I am more convinced over the last 6 months of data, the mRNA vaccines are doing an incredible job in our country and across the world.. I find them to be very safe. But everybody needs to assess their case individually— one of the most incredible things with the mRNA vaccines are they are much easier to tweak to cover variants to make BOOSTERS. I truly believe this will be the future of vaccines.

All of us were sounding the alarm on the harm the Pfizer vaccines were causing in 2021. How did she as a Dr. not know???

What do you think?

Do you support President Trump’s nomination of Dr. Nicole Saphier for Surgeon General?
