Aluminum and steel workers joined President Trump in the White House today to sign two proclamations that gave a 25% tariff on steel imports and a 10% tariff on aluminum imports. These tariffs go into effect in 15 days…

“The forgotten men and women of America will be forgotten no more.”

President Trump lets the workers speak at the 24:24 mark – Great comments!

He chose to exempt Mexico and Canada as we continue our NAFTA negotiations with those leaders.

Trump also said he would remain very flexible on tariffs. He said he just wants fairness and emphasized that the U.S. has been taken advantage of when it comes to steel and aluminum.

Trump declared that he has the right the raise or lower the tariffs as he sees fit and to include or exclude countries:

“We have to protect and build our steel and aluminum industries. This is not merely an economic disaster, but it’s a security disaster. We want to build our ships, we want to build our planes, we want to build our military equipment with steel, with aluminum, from our country.” – PDJT

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross tried to dispel the hysteria over the tariffs with a can of Campbell soup and a Coca Cola can: Check out Ross’ comparison at around the 3:30 mark.
