Justice Samuel Alito claps back at foreign leaders who have criticized the SCOTUS decision to overturn Roe v. Wade
The ignorant, the entitled, and the hypocritical among Europe’s leaders have been highly critical of the United States for a long time now, and their criticisms of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade have no more merit than do their criticisms of our use of air conditioning.
When the European Parliament voted to condemn the United States over the decision, they seemingly ignored the fact that virtually every country in Europe had a much shorter time frame in which you are able to get an abortion than did the United States under Roe.
Leaders such as Britain’s Boris Johnson, who has since resigned, and France’s Emmanuel Macron, have been among the most outspoken critics of the decision.
However, Justice Samuel Alito fired shots back when speaking at the University of Notre Dame’s Law School in Rome.
“I had the honor this term of writing I think the only Supreme Court decision in the history of the institution that has been lambasted by a whole string of foreign leaders who felt perfectly fine commenting on American law.”
“One of these was former PM Boris Johnson, but he paid the price. Others are still in office, President Macron and PM Trudeau are two.”
“But what really wounded me was when the Duke of Sussex addressed the UN and seemed to compare the decision – whose name may not be spoken – with the Russian attack on Ukraine,” he joked.

Prince Harry had previously commented on the Supreme Court Decision by comparing it to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as part of a “global assault on democracy and freedom.” Meanwhile, his own nation criminalizes speech and heavily regulates nearly every aspect of life.
The European leadership’s self-righteousness and hypocrisy do not impact America’s law. We’ve fought a couple of wars over that…
