This is a developing story.

Late last night, a car rammed into a barricade outside the White House.

The Secret Service immediately arrested the driver and took them into custody.

Here’s what we know so far:

It’s unclear at this time why the driver rammed into the White House barricade, and their identity has not been released.

We don’t know for sure if it was an accident or intentional.

The Secret Service released this statement on the investigation:

President Trump was inside the White House at the time of the incident.

Of course, he was not injured.

But, it’s still scary.

The New York Times shared more details:

The person drove the vehicle into a barrier at the corner of 17th and E Streets at about 10:30 p.m. Eastern, the Secret Service said. The car was a 2010 Acura TSX with Maryland license plates, according to public records.

The Secret Service did not release any details about the driver. It was not immediately known whether the crash was intentional, or why the driver approached the White House.

Mr. Trump was in the White House at the time of the incident, the Secret Service said. The White House was not placed on lockdown, but the road leading to the gate will remain closed until the police tow the vehicle away, the Secret Service added.

Please continue to pray for the safety of President Trump and our elected officials.
