Yesterday, WIBW shared an image of a slide that was allegedly taken by a Goodyear employee who claims he took the photo at a company diversity training session he attended in Topeka, Kansas.

The image of the slide labeled, “Zero Tolerance” that was leaked by the Goodyear employee reveals an alarming company policy that allows for tolerance of “Black Lives Matter (BLM), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride (LGBT), while clarifying that “Blue Lives Matter, All Lives Matter, MAGA (Make America Great Again), and Politically Affiliated Slogans or Material” are considered “Unacceptable” by Goodyear.

According to the employee who took the photo of the slide, it was presented at the Topeka plant by an area manager and says the slide came from their corporate office out of Akron, Ohio.

“If someone wants to wear a BLM shirt in here, then cool. I’m not going to get offended about it. But at the same time, if someone’s not going to be able to wear something that is politically based, even in the farthest stretch of the imagination, that’s discriminatory,” said the employee under the agreement of anonymity due to fears they could lose their job. “If we’re talking about equality, then it needs to be equality. If not, it’s discrimination.”

13 NEWS has reached out to Goodyear about the slide. They did not answer questions when asked if the slide was part of a training from their main office.

This morning, President Trump tweeted about the Goodyear image, telling his followers not to buy Goodyear tires over their alleged ban on MAGA hats.

Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES – They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS. Get better tires for far less! (This is what the Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!).

Shares of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. plummeted following his tweet:

Shares of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. GT, -2.36% dropped 3.1% in afternoon trading Wednesday, after President Donald Trump urged people not to buy the tire maker’s tires, after reports that the company is prohibiting workers from wearing apparel with political slogans, which would include “Make America Great Again” hats.

Meanwhile, shares of rival tire maker Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. CTB, +1.27% rose 1.2% and the U.S.-listed stock of Japan-based Bridgestone Corp. BRDCY, +0.76% 5108, +1.65% climbed 1.5%. Goodyear’s stock has tumbled 39.4% year to date, while Cooper Tire shares have rallied 21.2%

Many Twitter users called on Trump supporters to stop purchasing Goodyear and instead, buy the American made Cooper Tires. Many on the left came to the defense of Goodyear, who appears to be standing with them against law enforcement and America’s law and order president, Donald Trump, claiming Cooper Tires are made in China.

But, as usual, the left doesn’t always deal with facts. The Cooper Tires website explains:

Cooper does more than just manufacture its tires in America: they research, test, and design them here too.

Cooper Tires manufactures its tires in three different states, supporting local economies. They have production facilities in Findlay, Ohio; Texarkana, Arkansas; and Tulepo, Mississippi. Cooper also operates a facility for producing components of tires in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

The company’s corporate headquarters is also located in Findlay, Ohio.

With many US tires made in the US, Cooper also has manufacturing facilities overseas to produce tires for those markets, with Europe served by tire manufacturing facilities in the UK and Serbia; Asia having two facilities in China; and a Mexico location for Latin America.

Thanks to feedback from our readers we can report that at least some of the Cooper Tires sold in America are made in Mexico and China.

Goodyear put out a statement this afternoon, clarifying their position. In their statement, Goodyear claims the visual in question was not created or distributed by Goodyear corporaate, nor was it part of a diversity training class. Goodyear also clarified that they have always and will continue to support equality as well as law enforcement.

When White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany was challenged about President Trump’s tweet by a member of the hostile mainstream media, she insisted that Goodyear needs to do a better job of clarifying their position.

McEnany clarified Trump’s position and the position of his supporters when it comes to defending law enforcement: “MAGA’s pretty much synonymous with Blue Lives Matter.”
