In an interview aired Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Kamala Harris talked in circles, failed to express coherent thoughts, and repeatedly declared that the U.S.-Mexico border is “secure,” while tens of thousands of illegal immigrants are crossing the border each month, fueling a fentanyl crisis in the U.S.

As the final point of discussion in the interview, host Chuck Todd brought up the issue of border security, asking Harris, “Would you call the border secure?”

Harris insisted that the border is secure, but then proceeded to pass all the current issues off on the previous administration, saying “The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed.”

NBC’s Check Todd and Kamala Harris

Todd continued to press the issue, saying, “We’re going to have two million people cross this border for the first time ever. You’re confident this border’s secure?”

Then, in a series of nonsensical sentences, Harris avoided a direct answer to the question, saying,

We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration. But there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix given the deterioration that happened over the last four years. We also have to put in place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship.”

… What?

Tommy Pigott, the Rapid Response Director at the RNC, responded to this video with factual evidence that disputes Harris’ bogus claim that the border is secure. Pigott wrote,

“More illegal immigrants are crossing the border than ever before.

The DEA says fentanyl is being smuggled into the U.S. and killing Americans at record rates.

Experts say the system has “collapsed.”

Over 80,000 “gotaways” have escaped into the U.S. since Biden took office.”
