After the Senate failed to advance a bill that legalizes abortion through the third trimester, or essentially up until birth, Kamala Harris voiced her dismay and made a ridiculous statement showing just how out of touch she is with the American people.

“Sadly, the Senate failed to stand in defense of a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body,” said Harris.

She continued,

“This vote clearly suggests that the Senate is not where the majority of Americans are on this issue.”

First of all, Harris is grossly misrepresenting the issue that the Senate had with this bill. She is also misrepresenting where the “majority” of Americans lie on this issue.

At the point of the third trimester, it is, without a doubt, the baby’s body – not the mother’s – that the decision is being made about.

Harris truly believes that the majority of Americans are in favor of aborting a completely healthy, fully-formed baby. However, a 2021 poll found that 80% of Americans are against abortion in the third trimester.
