Last week, Stephen Colbert accused Michigan GOP gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon of making up a story she told during a debate with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

During this debate, Dixon addressed the inappropriate, sexual reading content being put into school libraries. She then told a brief story about a man who recently approached her saying that he “found content in [his] school library describing how to have sex.”

Dixon added that this man told her, “Just a few weeks ago, not only was I a Democrat, but I was running for office as a Democrat.” He then told Dixon that he was “leaving the Democratic party” and switching to the GOP.

On “The Late Show,” Colbert mocked Dixon for telling this story, accusing her of fabricating it. He also mocked her concern about explicit books in children’s school libraries because for some reason it doesn’t bother him.

“Dixon’s not the only one worried about this issue, so is this guy she totally made up,” Colbert said, proceeding to play a clip from the debate.

Colbert also insisted that this is not the Democrat’s problem. However, it is their woke party that is supporting this type of content to be included in children’s education. Colbert is so uneducated on this issue that his only defense is pretending like none of it is real, which is frankly embarrassing for him and a complete waste of everyone’s time.

The man from the story, Khalil Othman, recently spoke out against these accusations, talking to the Detroit Free Press about the misinformation being spread about Dixon’s honesty.

“To claim that I’m not here, I don’t exist, I’m not human, that’s absolute ignorance,” said 41-year-old Othman, a father of five and former Dearborn city council candidate. “If this person did his due diligence and start researching or has his team do a little bit of research of who’s this person who attended Dixon’s rally, they will be able to find my name right away easy on social media. Just Google it.”

Dixon also addressed Colbert’s accusations, saying,

“I told his story (during the debate) and Stephen Colbert picks it up… And they make this whole skit about how this never happened. That’s what he said, this story never happened. That’s where the Democrats are right now. You don’t exist, your stories are not important.”

Othman had posted on his Facebook account from the Dixon rally on October 21, where he said,

“Ever since immigrating to this great country almost 20 years ago, I’ve been a loyal Democrat. Never once did I ever vote Republican. However, the situation with the sexually explicit material in the schools was for me a bridge too far. When it comes to my kids and my family, I will not budge. Family before party!

I decided to go see Tudor Dixon in Flat Rock, MI and make my own judgment. During her speech, she spoke at length about parental rights and her opposition to sexually explicit materials in school. Afterwards, I spoke to Tudor Dixon and dozens of her supporters. They treated me with love and respect. They told me they were inspired by the parents of Dearborn for standing up for what is right.

I announce today that I hereby divorce the Democrat party and I STAND WITH PARENTS!!”
