Nancy Pelosi reveals her deep and emotional “connection” to China in a press conference and the internet won’t let up

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi believes she has a deep “connection” with China due to a fond childhood memory. You might be led to think that her family visited China when she was a child, or maybe even went to Chinatown–but no, the actual memory is much more ridiculous.

Nancy Pelosi reminisces on trying to dig a hole to China as a child

“When I was a little girl, I was told at the beach if I dug a hole deep enough we would reach China. So we’ve always felt a connection there,” she said at a press conference, much to the bafflement and amusement of the internet.

Pelosi believes that she is specially connected to China due to this memory. A memory of a cartoonish saying which she, and likely most of us, heard growing up that if you dig deep enough you could go all the way through the world and come out in China.

To make matters worse, she said this during her trip to the Pacific Asian nations.

Naturally, she is being ridiculed for such a statement.

Clay Travis, the founder of Outkick, Tweeted that our country is being ran by imbeciles in reference to Pelosi’s comment.

Turning Point USA’s Benny Johnson simply Tweeted “LOL what?” in response to the strange anecdote by Pelosi.

And other Twitter users also piled in, with statements such as “make sure we look like idiots to the rest of the world”

And “you’re telling me this person was our best choice to visit taiwan?”

Indeed, Pelosi has managed to not only cause a blockade around Taiwan with her visit, but also to embarrass the United States with her strange comments about digging to China.

Many see her, and especially with this most recent statement, as a compelling argument for term limits.
