While the vast majority of Americans complied with demands to get the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, a significantly lower number have received subsequent Covid-19 booster shots.
According to the CDC, 97.1% of Americans over the age of 16 has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
A far fewer number, just 50.6%, have received at least one booster shot.
Public health experts have expressed dismay that Americans are not getting boosted ahead of the winter season, where they expect to see an uptick in the number of Covid-19 cases.
On Thursday, MSNBC Katty Kay admitted that she was angry at her children for not receiving the booster, saying that she was “appalled” at one point.
She claims that she repeatedly encouraged her children to get the booster and they refused.
She had a public health expert on the show who admitted that young people are disproportionately disinterested in getting the booster.

MSNBC contributor Katty Kay expressed shock on Thursday that her children aren’t interested in further COVID-19 vaccinations.
After watching a clip from a doctor describing how busy hospitals have become in the closing of 2022, Kay described her personal frustration on “Morning Joe.”
“You would think that the country would respond by saying, ‘Okay, we’ll make sure we’re all up to date with our vaccines,’” she said to fellow MSNBC contributor Dr. Zeke Emanuel.
However, she recounted an unexpected experience with her own family.
“But I had a strange conversation with my 22-year-old and my 16-year-old last night, and I said, ‘Okay, I booked you in for COVID updates, you’re both back for holidays, you’re going to get your boosters,’ and both of them said, ‘No, we don’t want to. We’ve had enough vaccines, and we don’t think we need them,’” Kay said. “I was sort of shocked and appalled.”
