In Michigan, hard-core leftists affectionately call her “Big Gretch,” but the tyrannical acts of Michigan’s Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who made the list of Joe Biden’s top tier candidates for VP, are not going to be so easy to push off on President Trump. For months, President Trump has been very vocal about safely re-opening businesses, churches, sports and schools  across America, as the COVID pandemic appears to be slowing down.

On August 12, President Trump implored schools to reopen and allow kids to go back safely to school for in-person classes. If the school is closed, Trump suggested the parents should be the recipient of the federal dollars that were earmarked for their kid’s education.

On August 11, President Trump called for the start of college football, saying that these are strong athletes and that most of them will never get COVID. “So college football, get out there. People want to see it,” adding, “and stand for the national anthem.”

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden’s campaign has released a new ad targeted at Michigan voters in the must-win state that Trump won in 2016 by over 10K votes. The gutwrenchingly dishonest ad attempts to blame President Trump for the shutdown of churches, schools, and college football in the state of Michigan. While the narrator of the ad doesn’t specifically mention Michigan, video footage shows empty stadiums at both the University of Michigan and Michigan State University.

It’s strange that Joe Biden’s campaign attempts to blame President Trump, who’s been openly vocal about kids going back to school and about re-starting college football, when in fact, the blame for the draconian measures used to lockdown Michigan citizens since the start of the COVID outbreak has fallen squarely on the over-reaching Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

On August 18, without warning, and only days before students were set to move into the dorms, Michigan State President Samuel Stanley announced that students would not be allowed to move into the dorms and that in-person classes would be suspended. Michigan State’s football team is also part of the “Big Ten” conference, a group that decided to forgo their fall football season, allegedly over fears of spreading COVID.

Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer, an MSU alum, has strong ties to Michigan State University. She was asked to give the commencement speech to the 2020 law school grads.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer used the decision by MSU President Samuel Stanley to shut down the university as an example of how other colleges and universities in the state should react (overreact) to COVID.

Watch:

According to Breitbart News – Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer was blamed for reportedly being the lone Midwestern governor responsible for holding up the start of the Big 10 football season.

The Spun cited Ohio State insider as saying Democrat Whitmer is a “major roadblock” to it all coming together, which would essentially amount to the teams playing each other outside of the traditional league.

“I was also told that one roadblock to the new plan is the fact that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been vehemently opposed to football being played – at the high school and college level – in the state this fall,” Snook said.

“Ohio Governor Mike DeWine gave his blessing to all sports being played this fall on Tuesday.”

The Michigan High School Athletic Association has canceled high school football for the fall and has tentatively moved the season to spring.

The Spun reported Whitmer is “standing in the way of all the others” and is blocking Iowa, Nebraska, Ohio State, and Penn State.

If Whitmer continues to object, both Michigan and Michigan State would be out of the mix.

Last week, Robert Cahaly of the Trafalgar Group argued the lack of a Big 10 football season — and the appearance of supporting such a cancellation — could have an impact on the presidential election.

“Midwest battleground state swing voters who see SEC and/or ACC play football this fall will punish candidates who don’t constantly and loudly oppose the Big 10’s decision,” Cahaly wrote on Twitter.

On June 22, Governor Gretchen Whitmer appealed a federal judge’s ruling that allows indoor gyms in Michigan to reopen, leaving businesses set to open wondering when the Govenor will allow them to open.

Cahaly said on CNN that he believed no season could cost Joe Biden Michigan and Wisconsin, virtually must-win states for his campaign.

“Absolutely – I believe it is a significant factor,” Cahaly told CNN’s Michael Smerconish, FITSNews reported.

“How people perceive the coronavirus is defining their politics. If you believe it’s a hoax or you think it’s overblown you’re in the Trump corner. If you believe everything needs to be shut down and you won’t leave your home until there’s a vaccine you’re in the Biden corner,” he said.

“But if you’re in the middle – and there’s a growing group that says ‘hey, we’re going to do what we can to be safe and protect our families but we’re gonna live our life’ – well, that group is growing, and how that group moves and how they perceive the candidates absolutely is going to determine how they vote,” he added.“And college football is on the front line of that,” Cahaly said.

So, how does Joe Biden’s campaign get away with creating and airing such a deceitful ad? The typical “fact-checkers,” like Science Feedback, who shut down our traffic on Facebook for publishing a video of medical doctors talking about their personal successes with using hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID patients, are nowhere to be seen when it comes to calling out the lies of the left.
