US Rep. Ilhan Omar (D), who represents a large portion of Minneapolis and barely squeaked through her primary election two weeks ago, has been arguing in favor of defunding the police for almost as long as she’s been in office (which is way too long).
Meanwhile, crime in the Twin Cities is up…in fact, in 2021, it was way up!
Violent crime in Minnesota increased by nearly 22 percent in 2021, according to new report published by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
The 2021 Uniform Crime report published Friday shows violent crime rose by 16 percent in Greater Minnesota and by nearly 24 percent in the seven-county Twin Cities metro.
Year-over-year from 2020 to 2021, murders and rapes increased, the report said. Auto thefts reached a two-decade high. The agency also reported 779 carjackings last year, the first time the data was collected. (Carjackings are not included in auto theft numbers.)
In 2018, the Minneapolis City Council voted to eliminate single-family zoning and instead to allow residential homes to include up to three dwelling units.

The SFGate reported that the decision came as part of a sweeping plan to propel the city into the future by addressing issues like housing, racial equity, and climate change. The plan, called Minneapolis 2040, drew thousands of public comments, “Don’t Bulldoze Our Neighborhoods” yard signs, and a last-minute lawsuit but ultimately passed on a 12-1 vote.
Now, White teachers are in danger of losing their jobs in the Marxist city of Minneapolis simply because they have the wrong color skin.
Fox News reports – An agreement between the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers union and the school district states that White teachers will be laid off before teachers of color, regardless of their seniority.
The agreement, which was reached to end a two-week teacher strike last spring, says that starting this school year, “if excessing a teacher who is a member of a population underrepresented among licensed teachers in the site, the district shall excess the next least senior teacher, who is not a member of an underrepresented population.”
According to the agreement, the purpose of the policies is to solve for “past discrimination” by the district, which the agreement said “disproportionately impacted the hiring of underrepresented teachers in the District, as compared to the relevant labor market and the community, and resulted in a lack of diversity of teachers.”
