Meghan Markle has been using widespread influence to encourage Americans, especially women, to vote in this upcoming Presidential Election. Last Thursday, the Duchess of Sussex herself took part in a virtual event hosted by When All Women Vote.

According to When All Women Vote’s Twitter Post, Markle stated that, “We vote to honor those who came before us and to protect those who will come after us.” The Duchess of Sussex followed her patriotic statement by saying “I think we’re only 75 days away from Election Day, that is so very close, and yet there is so much work to be done in that amount of time.”

Her decisive statement on social media has caused her to receive backlash. Typically, it isn’t common for members of the Royal Family to comment on political matters.
