On Sunday, Jill Biden attended one of the NFL Conference Championship games where a game day announcer introduced her as “Doctor Jill Biden,” causing many to scoff at her phony use of the title.

Biden attended the Eagles-49ers NFC Conference Championship game, sitting in a box overlooking the field with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

After an announcer for the game acknowledged Biden in attendance, journalist and podcaster Megyn Kelly mocked her for insisting to use the title ‘doctor,’ calling her a “wannabe.”

She tweeted, “Announcers for this Eagles-49ers game just spotted the First Lady in a box and of course call her ‘Dr. Jill Biden.’ Wonder if she realizes what a wannabe she looks like insisting on this fake title. Get a real MD or just work on your self-esteem.”

Kyle Smith, a writer for the National Review, wrote a story in 2020 explaining why Biden’s dissertation and doctorate were “garbage.”

In his article, Smith points out that Biden holds an Ed.D instead of a Ph.D., the former of which he describes as “a joke in the academic world.”

He adds that Biden only got this degree for status reasons, citing a statement from her husband Joe Biden: “She said, ‘I was so sick of the mail coming to Sen. and Mrs. Biden. I wanted to get mail addressed to Dr. and Sen. Biden’ That’s the real reason she got her doctorate.”

Having read Biden’s entire dissertation, Smith calls it “sloppy, poorly written, non-academic, and barely fit for a middle-school Social Studies classroom.” He adds that it “is not an addition to the sum total of human knowledge,” and “is not a demonstration of expertise in its specific topic or its broad field.”

Smith also slams the dissertation as “lacking in rhetorical force, boldness of conception, and original research that it amounts to a triple null set, a vacuum inside black inside an abyss.”

He attributes her earning of the degree to her husband’s influence over the school, and insists that holders of an Ed.D. only use the title of “doctor” if they are “deeply unimpressive people.”
