Former First Lady Melania Trump spoke about her husband’s 2024 reelection bid on Tuesday, saying that she fully supports his decision and that it would be a “privilege” to serve as the first lady again.

Speaking to Fox News Digital, Trump said, “My husband achieved tremendous success in his first administration, and he can lead us toward greatness and prosperity once again.”

“He has my support, and we look forward to restoring hope for the future and leading America with love and strength,” she added.

Trump also said that, should her husband be reelected to the White House, she would continue to “prioritize the nation’s children with ‘Fostering the Future,'” which is part of her “Be Best” initiative.

Ms. Trump’s  “Be Best” initiative is focused on the well-being of American children, opioid abuse, and online safety. “Fostering the Future” is a program specifically focused on helping children who are aging out of the foster care system by granting them computer science scholarships and technology-based opportunities.

“Since leaving Washington D.C., my commitment to the foster community has grown stronger,” Trump told Fox News Digital. “At the present time, there are more than 400,000 children in the foster care system, and there is less than a 3% chance of former foster children completing their college education. In fact, many end up on the street, homeless.”

“My objective is to reduce the gap and increase access to higher education for those who leave the foster care system,” she said. “I have faith that an education-based foundation will provide these individuals with the skills needed to secure employment and achieve financial stability.”

Should Donald Trump be reelected in 2024, Melania assured Fox News that she would continue to focus on “creating a safe and nurturing space for children to learn, grow, and thrive.”

“My goal would be to ensure that every child has the support and resources they need to reach their full potential,” she added.

On May 6, the former first lady held a private luncheon with a group of teenagers in the foster care system at Mar-a-Lago to mark the fifth anniversary of her “Be Best” initiative.

Trump posted on Twitter about the event, writing, “I enjoyed the open and sincere discussion I had this past weekend, over lunch, with a group of teens from the foster care community. We covered a wide range of topics, including their personal experiences, struggles, and hopes for the future. I am confident that they will persevere and realize their dreams.”
