In a recent interview with Revolt TV, former first lady Michelle Obama aired her grievances with her husband, revealing that there was a 10-year period that she “couldn’t stand” former President Barack Obama. She also expressed the difficulties she faced raising her two daughters while living at the White House, calling them “terrorists.”

“People think I’m being catty by saying this,” Michelle said. “It’s like, there were 10 years where I couldn’t stand my husband. And guess when it happened? When those kids were little.”

Her and Barack’s two children, Malia and Sasha Obama, were ages 10 and 7, respectively, when their father was elected president.

Michelle described her frustrations with raising her children while juggling a major life adjustment, saying, “Little kids, they’re terrorists. They have demands. They don’t talk. They’re poor communicators. They cry all the time.”

“They’re irrational. They’re needy. And you love them. And so you can’t blame them, right?… So you turn that ire on each other.”

Michelle discussed the struggles she faced while trying to adjust to their new lives while continuing to deal with the girls’ busy schedules.

“For 10 years while we’re trying to build our careers and worrying about school and who’s doing what and what, I was like, ‘Ugh, this isn’t even,'” Michelle said.

She then acknowledged that marriage is always a constant give and take, and admitted she would rather have ten tough years of marriage that they overcame versus a marriage that is always bad.

“And guess what? Marriage isn’t 50/50, ever. Ever,” she continued. “There are times I’m 70 he’s 30. There are times he’s 60/40. But guess what? Ten years. We’ve been married 30. I would take 10 bad years over 30 – It’s just how you look at it. People give up – ‘Five years, I can’t take it.'”

“I mean, you could be mad at him, but do you still look at him and go, ‘I’m not happy with you, but I respect you. I don’t agree with you, but you’re still a kind, smart person,'” Michelle said, explaining how her frustration with her husband didn’t take away the love and respect they had for each other.

Michelle and Barack Obama first met at a law firm in Chicago in 1989. Currently, their net worth is at least $70 million after getting film and book deals as well as making other paid appearances.
