CNN has announced its moderators for the first Donald Trump-Joe Biden debate scheduled for June 27th in Atlanta, Georgia.

“CNN hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will moderate the first 2024 presidential debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump next month,” POLITICO reports.

POLITICO reports:

The quick agreement on the scheduled debates is unusually early — particularly the CNN debate in June — in that neither the president nor the former president will have formally accepted their party’s nominations by then.

The debates come after both Biden and Trump have said they would not participate in the Commission on Presidential Debates’ proposed schedule, placing serious doubts on whether there would be any debates at all.

Tapper and Bash hosted the GOP presidential primary debate in Iowa in January, though Trump was not in attendance.

The CNN debate will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, at 9 p.m. EST without a live audience.

Donald Trump will also debate Joe Biden on ABC News on September 10th.

ABC has yet to announce its moderators.

Donald Trump Accepts Joe Biden’s Debate Offer, Two Dates Scheduled

“Biden is afraid to debate in front of a crowd. That’s only because he can’t draw one,” Trump War Room posted.

From The Hill:

The June 27 debate, which will be broadcast live, will take place at CNN’s Atlanta studios and won’t feature a studio audience.

CNN’s is the first of two debates Biden and Trump agreed to Wednesday, with a second planned for September, hosted by ABC.

“Donald Trump lost two debates to me in 2020. Since then, he hasn’t shown up for a debate. Now he’s acting like he wants to debate me again. Well, make my day, pal,” Joe Biden said.

“I’ll even do it twice. So let’s pick the dates, Donald. I hear you’re free on Wednesdays,” he added.

“I’ve received and accepted an invitation from CNN for a debate on June 27th. Over to you, Donald. As you said: anywhere, any time, any place,” Biden said.

“I’ve also received and accepted an invitation to a debate hosted by ABC on Tuesday, September 10th. Trump says he’ll arrange his own transportation. I’ll bring my plane, too. I plan on keeping it for another four years,” he added.

“It is my great honor to accept the CNN Debate against Crooked Joe Biden, the WORST PRESIDENT in the History of the United States and a true Threat to Democracy, on June 27th. Likewise, I accept the ABC News Debate against Crooked Joe on September 10th. Thank you, DJT!” Trump responded.

“Crooked Joe Biden is the WORST debater I have ever faced – He can’t put two sentences together! Crooked is also the WORST President in the history of the United States, by far. It’s time for a debate so that he can explain to the American People his highly destructive Open Border Policy, new and ridiculous EV Mandates, the allowance of Crushing Inflation, High Taxes, and his really WEAK Foreign Policy, which is allowing the World to ‘Catch on Fire,’” Trump said.

“I am Ready and Willing to Debate Crooked Joe at the two proposed times in June and September. I would strongly recommend more than two debates and, for excitement purposes, a very large venue, although Biden is supposedly afraid of crowds – That’s only because he doesn’t get them. Just tell me when, I’ll be there. ‘Let’s get ready to Rumble!!” he added.
