President Trump is expected to select his Vice President this week.

NBC News reported that four people familiar with the matter shared that Trump will select his Vice President by the end of the week and as early as before his debate on the 27th.

Previously, Trump shared that he intended to announce his VP near the time of the Republican National Convention next month.

Now, it’s being reported that Trump’s campaign is urging Trump to announce his VP this week.

Check out what NBC News reported:

Former President Donald Trump could announce his vice presidential pick as early as this week, possibly ahead of Thursday’s debate, according to four people familiar with the situation.

Trump has said publicly that he intends to announce his pick shortly before, or at, the Republican convention next month.

But there have been high-level discussions in recent days within the Trump campaign about moving that timeline up and making a splash sooner, according to these sources, who requested anonymity to speak frankly.

The sources also cautioned that the timing is not yet final, and the decision could still happen closer to the convention.

Trump will be in Atlanta on Thursday for his first 2024 debate against President Joe Biden. He has a rally scheduled Friday in Virginia.

NATIONAL POLL: Who Is Your Top Choice For Trump’s VP?

Here are the frontrunners, according to Yahoo News:

Donald Trump says he has picked his vice president after a report revealed he was focusing on four potential candidates earlier this month.

Trump has picked his running mate but ”nobody knows” who it is yet, he told reporters at a campaign event on Saturday. The former president said his pick will be attending the first presidential debate on June 27.

Trump said he will likely announce his candidate at the Republican National Convention next month, where he will be named the GOP presidential nominee.

Earlier this month, Trump had received vetting materials from some of his vice presidential candidates, sources told NBC News. The report came just days after a Manhattan jury found Trump guilty of 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

A source told the outlet that the search concentrated on North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum and US Senators Marco Rubio of Florida, Tim Scott of South Carolina, and JD Vance of Ohio. Another insider told NBC News at the time that it was down to a three-way battle between Burgum, Rubio, and Vance.
