NFL star Micah Parsons, who is known as one of the best defensive players in the league, criticized Joe Biden on Thursday afternoon for a prisoner trade that included WNBA player Brittney Griner and prolific Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout.
People on both sides of the aisle have criticized the deal for being unbalanced, with many saying that the Biden administration should have also attempted to secure the release of Retired Marine Paul Whelan.
Whelan has spent four years in detention after he was accused of spying on behalf of the United States, the US government and his family deny the charges and say Russia is using him as a political bargaining chip.
Parsons expressed frustration at Biden for prioritizing Griner’s release over Whelan’s, further saying in a now-deleted Tweet that he would not vote for Biden.
Wait nah!! We left a marine?!! Hell nah https://t.co/3AeQx8K9OZ

Parsons later apologized after being criticized by liberal Twitter users and retracted his comments.
The Daily Caller Reports–
Just spoke to some people that I respect and trust. I should have been more educated on the topic and not tweeted out of emotion for my family and other who have served. For that I apologize. Also if what I’m told about the attempts to bring Ret Marine Paul Whelan home are true

NFL star Micah Parsons held his ground for all of 60 minutes on Thursday before he apologized for making a dig at President Joe Biden.
Parsons took a jab at Biden Thursday after it was announced WNBA star Brittney Griner would be released in an exchange for notorious arms dealer Viktor Bout.
“Wait nah!! We left a marine? Hell nah,” Parsons tweeted upon hearing the news, adding in a since-deleted tweet that he would still not be voting for Biden.
After some backlash Parsons took to Twitter to apologize.
“Just spoke to some people that I respect and trust. I should have been more educated on the topic and not tweeted out of emotion for my family and other who have served. For that I apologize. Also if what I’m told about the attempts to bring Ret Marine Paul Whelan home are true then the best outcome was accomplished. I pray Mr. Whelan comes home but am extremely happy for Brittney and her family.”
