Representative Devin Nunes (R-CA) was a guest this morning on Fox and Friends, where he told hosts that he’s interested in “watching the entire interview” of the former disgraced FBI director James Comey’s interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper last night.

“You say it’s not spying, why do you think the attorney general used the word spying?” CNN’s Anderson Cooper asked the former disgraced FBI director James Comey during the CNN town hall last night. “I can’t explain it. The only explanation I think of is that he used it because the President used it?” Comey told Cooper with a straight face.

When Rep. Devin Nunes was asked what he thought of Comey’s comments to Anderson Cooper, he slammed the FBI Director saying “he made a mess of the FBI.”

“This is a guy who continues to just make a mockery of the entire FBI and the Department of Justice,” Nunes said, reacting to Comey’s appearance at CNN’s town hall event on Thursday.

“This is the guy who, remember, leaked his memos in order to make sure that a Special Counsel was created to investigate the president.

“This is the guy who put an unverified dossier in front of a FISA court. There are lots of problems with Comey’s story. None of it matches up with reality.”

The FBI’s tactics of gathering intelligence over the course of the investigation have spurred an internal inquiry by the Justice Department’s inspector general, Michael Horowitz.

“I don’t think he’s telling the truth, Nunes said about Comey, slamming his responses, saying: “The former FBI director is not stupid man, and he’s acting awfully stupid.”

“I think he’s in a lot of trouble, and he should be. He made a mess of the F.B.I.” Nunes said.
