Nancy Pelosi called holding the attorney general in contempt of Congress a “political scheme” and “shameful abuse of power.” The only problem is, Pelosi was referring to Barack Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder, who was held in contempt of Congress for refusing to release documents that would likely indict him in the Fast ‘n Furious scandal, a gun running operation by the ATF that sent guns from the U.S. to Mexican drug cartels. U.S. Border Agent Brian Terry was killed with one of the guns used in the drug-running operation.

In the video below, Nancy Pelosi describes how Republicans in Congress are wasting time on the contempt charge and should be focusing on legislation that benefits the American people.

Fast forward to 2019, and Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want to stop at charging Attorney General Bill Barr with contempt of Congress, she’s also threatening a package of contempt charges against the Trump administration.

The Washington Examiner reported on Nancy Pelosi’s comments regarding contempt charges- “When we are ready we’ll come to the floor because there might be some other contempt of Congress issues we will want to deal with at the same time,” Pelosi, D-Calif., said, when asked at a news conference about the timing of House floor consideration of the Barr contempt charge.

Pelosi said she agrees with House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, D-N.Y., who declared the nation is in a constitutional crisis because Congress does not have access to the unredacted Mueller report into Russian election interference.

“Yes, I do agree with Chairman Nadler because the administration has decided they are not going to honor their oath of office,” Pelosi said.

The Judiciary panel voted along party lines to hold Barr in contempt for refusing to turn over the unredacted Mueller report, which he is prohibited by law from releasing.

Watch Nancy Pelosi, as she sits down with her allies at the Washington Post and describes how the legislative branch of government is the “first branch of government” (who knew?) and how President Trump is becoming “self-impeachable.”
