Hollywood went nuts over Oprah’s Golden Globes speech in January. Democrats were ecstatic at the prospect of the billionaire entertainer, actress and talk show running against Donald Trump for President in 2020.
The Democrats enthusiasm for Oprah, however, doesn’t appear to translate into actual votes for Oprah. Based on a recent poll, the “open-minded” and “tolerant” Democrat Party seems to be more interested in electing a man for the position in 2020…
The Daily Caller recently reported, that a new poll suggests the entertainment titan and lifestyle brand mogul Oprah Winfrey wouldn’t fare well if she ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, particularly if she went up against male candidates.
In the Politico poll released on Wednesday, Winfrey leads Trump 40 to 38 percent in a general election run. Around 22 percent of voters, however, were undecided in the head-to-head matchup.
But, did President Trump’s recent tweet about Oprah, cause her to open the door she swiftly closed, after speculation ran wild about Oprah challenging Trump in the 2020 presidential race? Trump tweeted: “Just watched a very insecure Oprah Winfrey, who at one point I knew very well, interview a panel of people on 60 Minutes. The questions were biased and slanted, the facts incorrect. Hope Oprah runs so she can be exposed and defeated just like all of the others!”

After a recent interview with Oprah, People magazine is now reporting that Oprah claims there is actually one thing that would make her consider running for president in 2020.
Amid calls for her to consider a run for the White House — from fans as well as her closest friends — “I went into prayer,” she tells PEOPLE in the magazine’s new cover story. “ ‘God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.’ And I haven’t gotten that.”
It sounds as though Oprah’s leaving the door open, perhaps even hoping that God will give her a sign…
