Progressives have always been about using emotional manipulation as a means of twisting people into supporting their causes rather than appealing to facts and a logical argument.

Nowhere is that seen more clearly than the gun control debate raging across the country right now, due in large part to the Parkland, Florida school shooting that occurred several weeks ago.

The news media and liberal organizations have been working around the clock to promote Parkland survivors who have spent the majority of their time being pimped out in front of news cameras, allowing themselves to be used as puppets for the left’s gun control agenda.

One student from Parkland, whose sister died during the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School has had enough of these opportunists using her to push for something he says she would not have agreed with.

The Daily Wire is reporting:

During the “March for our Lives” gun control event on Saturday, a student survivor from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School whose sister was one of the 17 people killed by the gunman called out activists from his school for using his deceased sister to promote an agenda he said she “WOULD NOT” support.

As a recent USA Today poll shows, less than half of high school students support the kinds of gun control measures being promoted by the Parkland student-led gun control campaign, but most of the student pushback to the campaign is either downplayed or downright ignored by many outlets.

In a tweet highlighted by PJ Media, Patrick Petty, brother of Alaina Petty, a member of the school’s Junior ROTC program, demanded that prominent activist Emma Gonzalez stop using his sister to promote an agenda antithetical to her beliefs. “Hey @Emma4Change please stop using my sister’s name to push your agenda, she DID NOT and WOULD NOT support it,” wrote Petty.

His tweet set off a wave of both sympathetic and angry responses. Here are a few of the tweets thanking him for speaking up and expressing agreement with his general sentiment:

Here’s just a small sample of the negative tweets Petty received:

While the response to Petty is pretty disgusting, it’s still encouraging to see that not every Parkland survivor has been brainwashed by the liberal education system into thinking that the real problem underneath school shootings is related to the Second Amendment.

Just sit back and ponder the madness of the left for a moment. They seriously want us to put our God-given rights into the hands of a movement led by a generation who are currently most well known for eating detergent and purposefully burning themselves on hot coils.

This is a generation that has no real world life experience, who have no idea about the long term ramifications of gun control and how they could not only be endangering American citizens in the here and now, but future generations who may have to deal with an overbearing, tyrannical government and have no means of defending their liberty.

No thanks.
