Days after she became the subject of widespread criticism for a social media post that wished for President Donald Trump’s supporters in Texas to get “what they deserve” as floods wiped away entire communities, Houston-area pediatrician Christina Propst has addressed the controversy.
As we previously reported, Propst’s prior employer confirmed that she was no longer employed by the facility.
Now, as the New York Post reported, she’s apparently trying to repair her tattered public image:
While insisting she wrote her post before knowing anyone had died, she acknowledged: “The words written were mine and regardless of how they are being presented, that is a fact that I deeply regret.
“I want to apologize to each and every individual suffering through terrible loss in this difficult time.”
Blaming the backlash on her post “being shared with the false impression that I made it after the devastating loss of life was known,” she again conceded: “The comment was mine and mine alone.”ADVERTISEMENT
The article continued:
Propst said in her apology that politics have never impacted her judgment or actions as a medical provider, adding that she is “tirelessly committed to children’s medical care and would never be so callous as to make such a remark about lives cut so terribly short.”
She said her harsh words came from “a place of frustration” amid her belief that better support is needed to prepare and respond to disasters like last weekend’s floods.
The social media backlash came flooding in after her initial remarks went viral:
May Christina B. Propst have karma knock on her door daily.
Disgusting evil scummy doctor is a pediatrician… She probably hates kids and I bet she supports chopping kids up and giving meds that turn them crazy. pic.twitter.com/61rhLDCxJO— Anne Marie’s Shoppe (@leo2533) July 7, 2025
I have a feeling that @BlueFishMD is going to need a call center to handle all of the complaints regarding Dr. Christina Propst. Let them know how you feel. pic.twitter.com/HqTpJUezjF

The Western Journal also provided some context to the lengthy apology Propst issued this week:
In all honestly, if Dr. Christina B. Propst hadn’t been called out for her hatred, she probably wouldn’t have offered contrition.
Only after her livelihood was threatened, did she became a woman of peace, who wants the best for Texas flood victims.
KPRC, a local NBC affiliate, published Propst’s apology that read: “I speak to you as a mother, a neighbor, a pediatrician, and a human being who is deeply sorry. I take full responsibility for a social media comment I made before we knew that so many precious lives were lost to the terrible tragedy in Central Texas.”
“I would like to make clear that my regrettable comment was in no way a response to the tragic loss of human life,” she continued. “But the words written were mine and regardless of how they are being presented, that is a fact that I deeply regret. I want to apologize to each and every individual suffering through terrible loss.”
Of course, this was not the first time the pediatrician injected (pun intended) politics into her practice, as this COVID-era video demonstrates:
