President Trump and his family witnessed the raid on Mar-a-Lago live from New York thanks to security feed
Christina Bobb, one of President Trump’s lawyers who was present at Mar-a-Lago during the FBI’s raid, revealed that President Trump and his family were able to watch the raid live as it was happening from Trump Tower.
“I think the folks in New York – President Trump and his family – probably had a better view than I did because they had the CCTV, but they were able to watch I was stuck in the parking lot there to collect paper and answer questions. But they were actually able to see the whole thing so they actually have a better idea of what took place inside,” she said.
The security cameras at Mar-a-Lago were only turned off for a brief period of time, according to Bobb. This allowed the Trumps to witness the FBI’s Monday raid as it unfolded.
“So initially, [the agents] said you need to turn off all the cameras and then, of course, the staff complied,’ she noted. ‘Then the lawyers jumped in and said, you actually don’t have to turn them off. So shortly after they turn them back on. So the cameras were only off for a very short period of time.”
According to Eric Trump, the FBI agents were even raiding areas of Mar-a-Lago which they “shouldn’t have been.”
This could be damning for the FBI if the search warrant, which is expected to be released Friday, had narrow parameters.
Furthermore, the fact that the FBI lied to staff about how they “must” turn off the security cameras further casts doubt on the legitimacy of this operation.
Thursday night, President Trump took to Truth Social to write that he is encouraging the release of the warrant and the confiscated inventory.
“Not only will I not oppose the release of documents related to the un American, unwarranted, and unnecessary raid and break-in of my home in Palm Beach, Florida, Mar-a-Lago, I am going a step further by ENCOURAGING the immediate release of those documents,” he wrote.
This encouragement comes in the midst of rumors and leaks alleging that Trump was keeping top secret documents containing nuclear weapons information in his home–something which many conservative figures have been berating as unrealistic at best.
However, that President Trump wants these documents released may mean that he is attempting to call the FBI’s bluff. It implies that he has nothing to hide.
