President Trump on Thursday announced a rally in Washington, D.C. in June to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary.

“On Wednesday, June 24th, at 7 P.M., in magnificent Washington, D.C., now totally beautified, and one of the Safest Cities anywhere in the World, and in celebration of our Country’s 250 Year History, we will be bringing you, LIVE, the Greatest Rally, EVER! It will be special at every level — A Rally to end all Rallies! We don’t want singers with no talent, but big fees to put you to sleep, we’ve told them all to stay home. All we want is you, me, a few speakers, and the Greatest Music ever played, the same Music you have listened to for years!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“We will have the fabulous Lee Greenwood introducing me with what has turned out to be one of the Greatest Hits of All Time, GOD BLESS THE U.S.A., and the amazing Christopher Macchio, who will sing Nessun Dorma, Hallelujah, Ave Maria, God Bless America, and others — Not since the legendary Luciano Pavarotti has there been such a voice!” Trump continued.

“The Rally will also be featuring the wonderful U.S. Army Band ‘Pershing’s Own’ and Armed Forces Choir, and ‘The President’s Own’ Unites States Marine Band, with the Joint Armed Forces Chorus, all of your favorite Hits, PLUS a fine and highly dignified gentleman known as, President DONALD J. TRUMP!” he added.

The Hill has more:

News of the rally comes after plans for a concert at the “Great American State Fair” faced major setbacks, with multiple artists slated to perform withdrawing from the event, citing concerns about its political ties.

Country singer Martina McBride said she would not be participating in the concert after claiming she was misled about its nature.

“I was presented with an opportunity to perform at a nonpartisan event but that turned out to be misleading,” McBride wrote in a statement. “I asked lots of questions and was assured this was a nonpartisan event that was meant to celebrate ALL 50 states.”

A spokesperson from the event said in an interview with “Sunrise on The Hill” that the fair and all of its planned events are “inherently nonpolitical.”

Trump previously suggested holding an “America Is Back” rally in place of several high-profile musicians who backed out of performing at the Great American State Fair scheduled later this summer.

President Trump Proposes “AMERICA IS BACK” Rally, Says He Should Take The Place Of “Third Rate” Artists Who Backed Out

“I understand Artists are getting ‘the yips’ having to do with their performance on Wednesday, so I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists,’ and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“Two years ago, the United States was DEAD. Now we have the ‘HOTTEST’ Country anywhere in the World. I don’t want so-called ‘Artists’ that get paid far too much money, who aren’t happy. I only want to be surrounded by Happy People, Smart People, Successful People, and People that know how to WIN. So, by copy of this TRUTH, I am ordering my Representatives to look at the feasibility of doing an AMERICA IS BACK Rally on Wednesday, Washington, D.C., same time, same location. Only Great Patriots invited — It will be a Wild and Beautiful Celebration of America!” he continued.

Variety shared further:

The Freedom 250 initiative was founded as a public/private partnership between the Trump administration and various sponsors, with promotional materials leaving the president’s name out and repeatedly using the word “nonpartisan.” But the organization’s Trump-appointed CEO, Keith Krach, has not been heard from since the controversy erupted after the artist lineup was revealed last week, and the president is leaving no doubt who is running the Freedom 250 show, at this point, at least.

Trump founded Freedom 250 apparently as an alternative to America 250, the bipartisan initiative set up by Congress to plan activities for the nation’s 250th birthday.

Four days ago, Trump posted a message saying “cancel it,” in apparent reference to all the Freedom 250 free concerts, although it was not certain at that time whether it was a suggestion that had to be run though the organization or a unilateral edict.
