President Trump is officially the first president to ever attend the Veterans Day Parade in New York City.
The president delivered a speech before the parade where he talked about the generosity via donations that helped make the Veterans Day parade possible. He also spoke about the parade that began its tradition in the year 1919.
The best part of the president’s speech was when he spoke about our veterans. A few highlights from the video below:
The men and women who have donned our nation’s uniforms are the bravest, toughest, strongest, and most virtuous warriors ever to walk on Earth.
You left your families and fought in faraway lands. You came face-to-face with evil and you did not back down. You returned home from war, and you never forgot your friends who didn’t return, including prisoners of war and those missing in action.
On Veterans Day, our nation rededicates itself to our most solemn duty. While we can never repay our warriors for their boundless service and sacrifice, we must uphold with supreme vigilance our sacred obligation to “care for those who have borne the battle.”
Together, we must safeguard what generations of fearless patriots gave everything to secure. We will protect our liberty, uphold our values, and defend our home. We will ensure that the righteous legacy of America’s veterans stands as a testament to this nation from now until the end of time.
To every veteran here today and all across our land: You are America’s greatest living heroes and we will cherish you now, always, and forever.
Protesters came to the parade area to yell “lock him up” and other leftist hate-mongering chants during the president’s speech:
They have no clue that our president has been one of the most supportive of our military. They’re blinded by hate.
This is why Trump spoke from an enclosed box at the NYC Veterans Day Parade. They wanted to control the audio strictly for PR. If you listen closely though, you can hear the protesters in the background of his speech. https://t.co/d25caeZuRR

THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE GENEROSITY FROM TRUMP TO OUR MILITARY:
As we honor and thank all our Veterans and their families for their service to our nation today, President Trump will be attending the Veterans Day Parade in New York City.
President Donald Trump will be opening the Veterans Day Parade this morning with a speech, making history as the 1st sitting president to accept the invitation. Veterans have invited the sitting president to attend the event every year for 25 years.
This is the 100th anniversary NYC Veterans Day Parade!
President Trump has a long history of supporting the Veterans Day Parade and Veterans in NYC:
In 1995, parade organizers had only $1.21 in the bank account for the event. They had after received nothing from 200 corporations, The New York Times reported.
Donald Trump stepped up with a large donation for the event of about $375,000, parade organizer Vincent McGowan told CNN in 2016.
Trump’s contribution started a windfall of donations to the parade’s organizers and the show was able to go on.
He also gave $1 million to help build the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza in NYC.
