President Trump, on late Sunday afternoon, released a new statement on Iran.

In a post on Truth Social, the 47th President noted that the Iranian regime has been an enemy of the United States for 47 years.

Trump also called out former presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden for being weak towards Iran and allowing the regime to have access to billions of dollars through a failed nuclear deal.

Iran has been playing games with the United States, and the rest of the World, for 47 years (DELAY, DELAY, DELAY!), and then finally hit “pay dirt” when Barack Hussein Obama became President.

He was not only good to them, he was great, actually going to their side, jettisoning Israel, and all other Allies, and giving Iran a major and very powerful new lease on life. Hundreds of Billions of Dollars, and 1.7 Billion Dollars in green cash, flown into Tehran, was handed to them on a silver platter. Every Bank in D.C., Virginia, and Maryland was emptied out — It was so much money that when it arrived, the Iranian Thugs had no idea what to do with it. They had never seen money like this, and never will again. It was taken off the plane in suitcases and satchels, and the Iranians couldn’t believe their luck.

They finally found the greatest SUCKER of them all, in the form of a weak and stupid American President. He was a disaster as our “Leader,” but not as bad as Sleepy Joe Biden! For 47 years the Iranians have been “tapping” us along, keeping us waiting, killing our people with their roadside bombs, destroying protests, and recently wiping out 42,000 innocent, unarmed protestors, and laughing at our now GREAT AGAIN Country. They will be laughing no longer! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Shortly after President Trump released the statement, he issued a follow-up statement expressing his disappointment with Iran’s latest response to the United States regarding a possible peace deal.

The New York Times reported more on the recent developments between the United States and Iran:

Hours after Iranian state media said on Sunday that Tehran had formally responded to the latest U.S. proposal to end the war, President Trump called it “TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!” His reaction cast doubt on whether the stalemate between the two countries would be broken anytime soon.

The Iranian announcement, which came after a tense week of attacks and counterattacks in the Persian Gulf rattled the fragile truce, had provided few details.

Mr. Trump, in a post on his social media platform, wrote: “I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives.’ I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!”

His comments came after CBS’s “60 Minutes” released clips from an interview with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel in which he said that the conflict with Iran was “not over.” He said that was in part because Iran had yet to give up the material that Israel feared could one day be made into a nuclear weapon.

Negotiators for Iran had passed their response to Pakistan mediators, who have been brokering the talks, according to Iran’s state broadcaster.

Iranian officials have said the two countries are working on a short-term agreement that would pause fighting for another 30 days and end Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil and gas shipping route in the Persian Gulf. The officials said the United States and Iran would try to reach a comprehensive deal during the monthlong lull.

Mr. Trump announced a temporary cease-fire last month, suspending the U.S.-Israeli military campaign that began in late February against Iran. But more than a month later, the two countries have failed to reach a deal to end the war, leaving the region in an uneasy limbo.
