President Trump has responded to rumors that he wears a wig.
In the beginning of August, liberals on social media attempted to conjure up a rumor that President Trump wears a wig.
The rumors stemmed from users on X posting videos of Trump from his recent visit to Las Vegas.

On Wednesday, Trump responded to the rumors and denied ever wearing a wig.
The Hill provided Trump’s full response to the rumors:
President Trump denied allegations Wednesday that he wore a wig, citing an incident in 2024 where he faced windy weather.
During a speech at the White House Rose Garden dinner, Trump recalled when he spoke at a campaign rally in 2024 for Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio), where he faced “the worst weather I think I’ve ever experienced outside of maybe a hurricane we had in Florida one time.”
“I went up to the speaker, and it was blowing so hard,” he said. “You know, for years, I had to suffer with people saying, ‘He wears a wig.’”
“I don’t wear a wig. But that night, they found out I did not wear a wig because if you did, it was not going to be on your head very long,” Trump continued.
He described how during the event, teleprompters even blew off the stage as he walked up to the podium.
The Associated Press in 2024 reported similar conditions, saying the event was on a “wind-whipped airfield” in Vandalia, Ohio.

Here’s what Snopes had to report on Trump’s appearance in Las Vegas:
In August 2026, a claim (archived) circulated online that U.S. President Donald Trump wore a wig, hairpiece or toupee during an appearance in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Aug. 5, 2026.
For example, the independent journalist Aaron Rupar posted a video of Trump’s speech at the Red Rock Resort on Aug. 5, writing, “is Trump rocking a wig, or what the h*** is going on here?”
Similar claims that questioned whether Trump wore a wig also circulated on Facebook (archived), Instagram (archived), Threads (archived) and Bluesky (archived). Snopes readers contacted us about the claim.
ADVERTISEMENTThough Trump’s hair appeared both redder and fuller in some photos taken during his Aug. 5, 2026, speech than in previous images of the president, the reason was unclear. It was possible that lighting and camera quality affected how Trump’s hair’s shape and color appeared in individual shots, which made direct comparisons and conclusions difficult.
