As Democrats continue to lean further left, President Donald Trump is warning about what he sees as the long-term consequences of embracing socialist policies.

In a recent interview, Trump argued that the Democratic Party’s shift toward what he described as a “giveaway” culture would ultimately lead to serious decline for the party and American society.

According to Breitbart:

“You would think that they couldn’t go anywhere, you would think that the American public is much wiser than that — and if you look back on history, it’s never worked,” Trump told Breitbart News in an hour-long exclusive interview in the Oval Office at the White House on Tuesday. “Go back 1,000 years, different names, but the concept of give away everything ends up in squalor, crime, and death. It always ends up the same way.”

Later in the same article:

Trump also said these radicals like Lander and Darializa Avila Chevalier, who defeated Espaillat in a New York primary, are “doing good for themselves” right now “because they’re going to get themselves nominated because the party is stone cold crazy so they get themselves nominated.”

Before Democrats as a party took such a hard-left turn, he said, these types of radicals “wouldn’t have been able to” win their primaries like they are currently doing.

“They’re taking on straight Democrats—or even if you say radical left, but not crazy left — these are people that are getting nominated that wouldn’t have a chance if it was just normal left, as opposed to these crazed lunatics,” Trump said. “If you’re not that way, you’re not going to get the nomination, it would seem so.”

Trump thinks that long-term, this swing towards lunacy from Democrats has endangered their party.

“I have a different theory,” Trump said. “I think if they went back to the center, they’d be much tougher to beat.”

Trump’s remarks came just days after Vice President J.D. Vance raised similar concerns about the Democratic Party’s direction.

According to The Hill:

“This is fundamentally a view that the United States is an evil country that must be dismantled from the ground and then built back up,” he said. “That’s communism at its core, and you see more and more movement in that direction from the Democratic Party.”

Vance’s comments follow the string of wins by progressive candidates running in Democratic primaries across parts of the country, most notably in New York last week. Candidates endorsed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D), himself a democratic socialist, won against incumbent Reps. Adriano Espaillat and Dan Goldman.

Former attorney Melat Kiros became the latest democratic socialist to win a Democratic primary, defeating 15-term Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) on Tuesday.

While the mainstream media has generally treated the socialist uprising as a neutral or even positive development for the Democrats, there have been a few surprises, like this recent MSNOW segment:
