President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump visited Dayton, Ohio today, less than one week after the tragic mass shooting by a deranged Democrat in the popular Oregon District. The shooting left 10 people dead and 16 injured.

Miami Valley Hospital workers and Dayton law enforcement officers were all smiles, as they showed their appreciation for the president and the first lady making the trip to offer their support.

President Trump tweeted about his visit, saying, “The people I met today in Dayton are the finest anywhere!”

Unfortunately, Democrat leaders in Dayton squandered the awesome opportunity to bring everyone together after the tragedy that rocked Dayton, and instead, criticized President Trump.

Just left Dayton, Ohio, where I met with the Victims & families, Law Enforcement, Medical Staff & First Responders. It was a warm & wonderful visit. Tremendous enthusiasm & even Love. Then I saw failed Presidential Candidate (0%) Sherrod Brown & Mayor Whaley totally…..

….misrepresenting what took place inside of the hospital. Their news conference after I left for El Paso was a fraud. It bore no resemblance to what took place with those incredible people that I was so lucky to meet and spend time with. They were all amazing!

Dan Scavino backed up President Trump’s claim of being well-received by members of law enforcement and by the staff at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH, with photos of workers who were clearly proud to be posing with President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

Scavino also admonished the Democrat leaders in Dayton for their shameful display of partisanship. Instead of working to heal a broken community, Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown and the Democrat Mayor of Dayton, Nan Whaley, chose to further divide people.

President Trump’s new White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham also admonished the partisan hack Democrats for their shameful political pandering.  Grisham told everyone what actually happened in her response to Scavino’s tweet:

President @realDonaldTrump graciously asked Sen Brown & Mayor Whaley to join as he and the First Lady visited victims, medical staff & first responders. It is genuinely sad to see them immediately hold such a dishonest press conference in the name of partisan politics.

From Breitbart News – “We can’t get anything done in the Senate because Mitch McConnell and the president of the United States are in bed with the gun lobby,” Brown said to reporters. “Guns is a big big part of this.”

Brown recounted his visit at the hospital with the president with police officers, during which he said he lectured Trump about assault weapons.

I said, ‘Mr. President, respectfully, the most important thing you can do for these police officers is take these assault weapons off the streets so they don’t have to go up against those assault weapons,” he recounted.

Brown also said he asked Trump to endorse the Democrat background check expansion bill and asked him to press Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to bring the bill to the floor in the Senate.

He said he also demanded that Trump support mental health by stop trying to repeal Obamacare.

Whaley said that they both told Trump about the importance of passing more gun control in Washington, D.C.

Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Democrat Mayor Nan Whaley meet President Trump in Dayton, OH.

“We reiterated to the president the importance of action around these issues and guns and that the people of Dayton are waiting for action from Washington, D.C.,” she said.

Brown said he was “very concerned” about Trump’s rhetoric, which he described as “racist” but said that he did not discuss it directly.

Both Brown and Waley failed to mention the shooter who killed nine people in Dayton on Sunday was aligned ideologically with Democrats and leftists.
