President Trump’s team is coming after terror networks where they are most vulnerable: the money.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent delivered a blunt warning to Iran’s ruling class Tuesday, saying the United States knows where regime insiders have hidden accounts, trusts and luxury property around the world.
Hours later, the Justice Department announced that federal authorities had seized more than $560,000 in cryptocurrency intended for Hamas and taken control of online infrastructure used by the terrorist group.
These were separate actions against separate targets. Together, they reveal the same strategy: follow the money, expose the network and make the people financing terror pay a price.
🚨 BREAKING: Scott Bessent just sent shivers down the spine of Iranian regime leaders. What a bad*ss…

Bessent said the government knows where Iranian leaders hold accounts at trust companies in the British Virgin Islands and where they own homes worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
“We are going to close all that down,” he said, adding that assets stolen from the Iranian people could ultimately be directed to victims of terrorism.
His warning was not an isolated television soundbite. It followed the launch of a sweeping Treasury campaign aimed at cutting the Iranian regime off from its financial lifelines.
The U.S. Treasury Department said Operation Economic Outcast began August 24 at President Trump’s direction. The campaign targets the overseas entities, individuals, vessels and financial channels that help Tehran generate oil revenue, obtain missile and nuclear technology and conduct cyber operations.
Treasury announced sanctions against more than 60 targets when the operation began. Bessent also said Treasury, the State Department and the U.S. military were pressing foreign governments to act against the regime’s international support network.
The objective, according to Bessent, is to sever the economic lifelines that sustain Tehran’s rulers while making clear that ordinary Iranians are not the target.
That distinction matters. The wealth Bessent described is not the money of ordinary Iranian families.
It is the offshore fortune of a ruling class accused of stealing from its own people while funding terror abroad.

The Hamas action shows the financial pressure campaign is not limited to traditional bank accounts, oil shipments or luxury real estate.
Terror groups have used cryptocurrency and online platforms to move money outside the formal banking system. Federal investigators are now demonstrating that “hidden” digital money is not necessarily beyond their reach.
The Justice Department said the FBI seized approximately $560,000 in cryptocurrency intended to support Hamas’s Al Qassam Brigades. Investigators traced and seized the funds through three court-authorized warrants tied to activity identified in March, June and October 2025.
Federal agents also took control of domains and servers connected to Hamas fundraising and recruitment operations, including infrastructure supporting the AlQassam.ps website. The government said the takedown allowed investigators to intercept donations and identify thousands of people who contacted Hamas online to donate or attempt to donate.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro said Hamas’s networks are not secure and its cryptocurrency is vulnerable. Assistant Attorney General John Eisenberg said the seizures deprive Hamas of resources used to recruit, radicalize and finance attacks.
The Justice Department’s announcement did not claim that this seizure established a Hamas-Antifa connection. That broader allegation appears in social-media commentary, but the verified federal action announced Tuesday concerns Hamas fundraising, cryptocurrency, websites and servers.

The message from Washington is getting harder to miss.
Offshore trusts are not invisible. Luxury homes are not untouchable.
Crypto wallets are not magical shields. Servers and domains can be seized.
For years, hostile regimes and terror groups treated the global financial system as both a weapon and a hiding place.
President Trump’s administration is now trying to turn that same system against them.
