Republicans have mostly been silent during the past six days of rioting with a few exceptions. One Republican spoke out today but ruined any credibility he had with conservatives by trying to place blame for the destruction on far-right groups. Has he not been watching the hours and hours of video footage to see what groups are responsible for this chaos?

Marco Rubio tried to place blame on “groups from the far-right” for “instigating the violence and looting” in a tweet that includes a video:

“Various domestic terror groups on BOTH far left & right are instigating & committing acts of violence & looting. They are stealing the focus away from the murder of Mr. Floyd & the legitimate problems it revealed.”

Lisa Booth came after Rubio for his comment on Twitter:

“What groups on the right? With all due respect, this is a cowardly response.”

Rubio responded:

With all due respect, Lisa Marie Boothe, what would be cowardly is condemning what Antifa is doing in the street but ignore what certain extremist groups on the far right are encouraging followers to do on telegram & facebook. I am against ANY group that undermines law & order

Next, conservative Mollie Hemingway ripped into Rubio:

Rubio is kind of like a prize truffle pig, but one that roots out saying the precise wrong thing at important times in a way that harms his caucus for no apparent reason.”

Rubio tweeted back to Hemingway:

Antifa groups are committing acts of violence

Extremist groups with an opposing, but radical ideology are encouraging a 2nd Civil War online

I don’t know why you think pointing out this truth is bad for my “caucus”.

But I know for sure what they are doing is bad for my country

Boothe’s last comment says it all:

“It’s pathetic.”
