We previously reported on the Mayor of London approving a huge balloon depicting ‘angry baby Trump’ to fly over London during Trump’s visit there. Now we have a brilliant counter campaign that’s exploding:
Westmonster reported:

Following Sadiq Khan’s approval of a balloon mocking President Trump to be flown over Parliament during his visit to the UK, a counter-campaign has surged to over £10,000 out of nowhere for a balloon depicting the London Mayor to go up.

The campaign’s appeal reads: “To have a giant size Sadiq Khan, ‘Baby Khan’ balloon fly over London to demonstrate our unhappiness with him as our Mayor of London.”

It goes on to explain: “In light of the Donald Trump ‘Baby Trump’ ballon being allowed to fly over London during his visit to the UK, let’s get a ‘baby Khan’ one and see if FREE SPEECH applies to all and whether or not Mr Khan and the London Assembly will also approve this.”

More than 600 people have backed the move already, to the tune of more than £10k.

OUR PREVIOUS REPORT:

The same mayor who banned “sexy women” from appearing in ads on public transportation in London is now giving the “go-ahead” for a giant balloon of a “baby Trump” dressed in a diaper to fly over the city of London during President Trump’s visit next week.

Only 5 months into Trump’s presidency, London’s new Muslim mayor, Sadiq Khan issued a warning to President Trump: Moderate your stance on Muslims, or they will launch more attacks against America.

Now, in a move that could strain the already contentious relationship between London Mayor Sadiq Khan and U.S. President Donald Trump, the former has given permission for a giant blimp depicting POTUS as an angry baby to be tethered in Parliament Square Garden next Friday.

On July 13, Trump will make his first visit to the UK since taking office and this is just one of the forms of protest expected to greet him. With demonstrations planned outside BBC headquarters and in Trafalgar Square, media will be on high alert as Trump travels through London. The 19-foot-high ‘Trump Baby’ blimp will surely be a big orange focus.

Khan and Trump have clashed publicly since the latter was elected. Khan was highly critical of Trump’s travel ban and then last spring, Trump berated (and misconstrued) Khan following the London terrorist attack that saw several killed and dozens injured. Khan vowed at the time that he wasn’t “tangoing with this guy. I’ve got better things to do.”

But he also told Channel4 News that a state visit by the U.S. President should be cancelled. “I don’t think we should be rolling out the red carpet to the President of the USA in the circumstances where his policies go against everything we stand for,” Khan said in June 2017.

In November, after POTUS’ retweets of anti-Muslim messages put out by the UK’s far-right Britain First party, Khan said he had called on Prime Minister Theresa May “to cancel her ill-judged offer of a state visit” and added, “It is increasingly clear that any official visit at all from President Trump to Britain would not be welcomed.” – Deadline

How does anyone know that it’s safe for the balloon to fly over the city of London while President Trump is visiting?
