Is the deep state “slow-rolling” the removal of John Brennan’s security clearance in defiance of President Trump’s order last summer to strip Brennan of the clearance?

Rand Paul just called out the deep state on their lack of action in removing Brennan’s clearance:

“People talk about the deep state, now the deep state’s actually protecting their own,” says Sen. @RandPaul on ex-CIA Dir. John Brennan keeping his security clearance.

“I was sitting in the White House when President Trump said I want his security clearance taken…and I saw the order given. I saw the chief of staff was there, not the current chief of staff, the previous chief of staff.”

Senator Paul was speaking of former Chief of Staff John Kelly.

Senator Paul continued: “If they are working against … the president that really does disrupt our country, does disrupt a representative democracy where the president makes a decision. If someone is countermanding that, I think we need to get to the bottom of that.”

It was close to one year ago that Sarah Sanders came out in the White House press room to announce that Brennan’s security clearance would be taken.

Why does Brennan still have his clearance?

The NYT claims the removal has been “hampered by aides who slow-rolled the President and by Justice Department officials who fought Trump, warning he was jeopardizing national security.”
