At the start of the FIFTH vote by US House members to elect their next Speaker of the House, the outspoken. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) called on her “favorite president,” Donald Trump, to call Rep. Kevin McCarthy and tell him “it’s time to withdraw” his name from the running for House Speaker because “he doesn’t have the votes.”

“So, let’s work together. Let’s stop with the campaign smears and tactics to get people to turn against us,” she said, adding that instead of President Trump calling conservative House members and telling them to “knock it off” and “reverse” his endorsement of Kevin McCarthy last night,” Boebert said.

Rep. McCarthy lost in the FIFTH round of votes.

Boebert’s call for Trump to intercede comes after President Trump posted a message of support for Paul Ryan-lite as the next Speaker of the House on his Truth Social platform.

President Trump implored Republican House members to get behind Kevin McCarthy, whose PAC supported many of the candidates who ran against Trump-endorsed candidates in the November 2022 election. In his message that was typed mostly in CAPS, Trump warned Republicans not to let the “great triumph” of winning a majority in the House turn into a “GIANT & EMBARRASSING DEFEAT” by voting against Rep. McCarthy as their next speaker, who Trump claimed would “do a good job, and maybe even a GREAT JOB”

Some really good conversations took place last night, and it’s now time for all of our GREAT Republican House Members to VOTE FOR KEVIN, CLOSE THE DEAL, TAKE THE VICTORY, & WATCH CRAZY NANCY PELOSI FLY BACK HOME TO A VERY BROKEN CALIFORNIA, THE ONLY SPEAKER IN U.S. HISTORY TO HAVE LOST THE “HOUSE” TWICE! REPUBLICANS, DO NOT TURN A GREAT TRIUMPH INTO A GIANT & EMBARRASSING DEFEAT. IT’S TIME TO CELEBRATE, YOU DESERVE IT. Kevin McCarthy will do a good job, and maybe even a GREAT JOB – JUST WATCH!

Last night, Rep. Lauren Boebert explained to Fox News host Bret Baier why she is standing firm on her “no confidence” vote for Speaker against Rep. Kevin McCarthy using a single motion to vacate rule. “We have to have accountability in the House of Representatives to have trust,” she told Baier.

Boebert found herself in a difficult position when the very popular House member won her re-election bid after a recount in a conservative district.
